You had a groovy and gyrating time all through 2005 with some awesome stuff hitting the powerhouse stereo oft and on. Bollywood music looked good last year, setting new trends and introducing many innovative things to the block. With the year gone by you just look back with nostalgia. But friends, it's time to look ahead to 2006 as the offering this year can get more better. Top of the banners, composers and singers are all geared to give some memorable music! Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna Karan Johar is a deft filmmaker and has as much equal insight for the music of his films, there is no doubt about it. After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kaal there is little left to say what one can expect from his forthcoming 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'. And when he entrusts the reigns of music in the hands of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, he can be rest assured about where he is heading. It'll be a blower! Krrish Rajesh Roshan has some great history in his musical career composing the breathtaking albums like 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' and 'Koi Mil Gaya' for Rakesh Roshan's banner. He is once again at the helm of affairs for 'Krrish'. We expect another stunner from him this time. Dhoom 2 Yash Raj's 'Dhoom' just rocked with the music by Pritam. The sequel 'Dhoom 2' will be no less. Likely to create as much wave or may be much more, we look with anticipation to the music of the film. Salim Sulaiman also joins hands for a rip-roaring music adding to the zeal of the film. Umraao Jaan The original Umrao Jaan had a classic and immortal soundtrack. Would it be possible for the team of J.P. Dutta and Anu Malik to work wonder again. With the successful music in the lineage of films they've worked together, it seems to be an uphill task if not impossible. Fanaah Jatin Lalit had been the favourite composers with the Yash Raj banner and has a track record of some super hit and quality music. They are back again to compose for 'Fannah' to be directed by Kunal Kohli. With a stellar star cast, we expect the music of the film to be no less. Jatin Lalit might find themselves on the top with the soundtrack, who knows! Don The film as well the music of the original was a blockbuster. And Farhan Akhtar can never go wrong to recreate the remake. To be on the safe side he had decided to go with the tracks 'Khaike Paan Banaraswaala' and 'Ye Mera Dil' the remix way. The rest of the responsibility has been laid on Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Hope the trio is able to match with the original. Gangster Bhatts have a penchant for music and they've proved it time and again. Murder, Zeher, Kalyug and many more such films under their banner boasted of good music and also turned to be chartbuster. 2005 has been exceptionally good for them. 'Gansgter' will be no less indeed! Vivaah Soorja Barjatya's films have always swanked with good soundtrack. 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' and 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' stands tall among the rest. For the compositions of their forthcoming film they've once again decided to bring back ace Ravindra Jain to do the scores. Only time will prove if the film is able to establish its strength. 36 China Town The year belonged to Himesh Reshammiya and so will be 2006 with a long list of films piled up for him. After 'Aitraaz' he returns to the Subhash Ghai and Abbas-Mustan team once again to compose music for this film. Hope he'll prove his credentials and come with a rocking stuff once again. We're waiting! Salaam-E-Ishq: A Tribute to Love Shankar Ehsaan Loy are surely going to have a busy next year with most of the big banner film in their kitty.
