LOL.. this industry does not work on what you deserve.. afterall producers are not doing a charity show.. they have to see whats in it for them and what she can bring back in terms of money.. 5 crores..😆😆 why would anyone invest in bad stock.. that is just not a financially sound deal..

I wonder where her 'enviable' fan following was when Aaja Nachle tanked..😆😆😆😆😆

LOL.. Economics of market capitalism don't work on raw emotions. If that was the case firefighters and teachers would draw more salaries than professional sports persons. When was the last time a 40+ heroine as the principal lead had a box-office hit? Aaja naachle, Jhankar beats, My brother Nikhil..

The public decides what producers are willing to pay their actors. They are not in it for charity or reminiscing about golden old days. Bollywood is not Hollywood.. we are already writing Ash off at 37.. Madhuri after a gap of these many years has a snowball's chance in Hell to work as a lead for 5 crores.

My guess is that madhuri doesnt want to do movies for quoting such a high price.

I dnt think the trade analyst was completely wrong. if people like katrina,PC, bebo are ruling the BO, then madhuri doesnt stand a chance. granted, she is 10x better than them in acting, but the BIG question is: Can she pull in the audiences? My answer is NO.Recently, she was a judge on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa,and i know that, despite HER being in the show, it could never beat the seria (Pavitra Rishta) in its timeslot. That too me tells, if she cant move the audiences every Monday-tuesday; then she doesnt have much stand against the Katrina, bebo, PC.

Dimple Kapadia and Sharmila Tagore are two actors who did their best work after motherhood. It's up to the audience; they accept some and reject some. Of course age along with fame should also be on their side.

In Madhuri's case, she was already being written off when DTPH happened [check her speech after winning Filmfare trophy for DTPH]. SLB who was smitten by Madhuri and wrote his first two films keeping her in mind (she rejected Khamoshi and HDDCS), didn't bother to include her when they were promoting Devdas. She was not getting major offers when she left the industry. I didn't find anything wrong with that Freaky Friday remake. At least with Freaky Friday remake, she could have impressed her teen/women fans. It would have been a fun Summer movie. Sharmila Tagore played mother to much older Rajesh Khanna in early 70s and still ruled the box-office for many years.

What kind of role is Madhuri expecting in commerical Bollywood? Because 5 crores is not an amount paid to indie cinema actors.

Better leave at the top of your game else be like Juhi Chawla, Shabana Azmi and do meaningful roles. Male or female, actors get work till they are in demand.

she probably doesnt want to leave her family so thats y she is quoting such high prices but she deserves it. she pulled in more viewers in jdj than zor ka jhatka, kaun banega crorepati, etc. plus as the article says, there is lots of nostalgia attached to her. if actors like akshay, aamir , srk, salman are being paid 25 crores for one film, i think madhuri deserves at least 5 if she decides to it, but in reality she was the number one actress for more than a decade and even if she doesnt do a movie now she has still accomplished more in her life than most of us can ever dream of, so if she does decide to do a movie, she deserves to get paid well.
