Sanjay Dutt is a RASCAL!

What made you produce Rascals?

I wanted to start my production company three years ago but never found the right subject. When Rascals came up, everything fell into place. I liked the script, music, the casting and the director. It is an out-and-out comedy film and I have worked with David Dhawan earlier so I have a faith in him.

You have done so many comedy films. How comfortable are you with this genre?

It all depends on who you are working with on a film. When I did Munnabhai everything fell in place as there was Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and of course Raju Hirani and it's the same way with Rascals. Ajay and I share a great chemistry and we get along with David Dhawan, as well.

Ajay and you are close friends?

Of course! We are close friends before being professional associates. We have to talk once a week and meet whenever we get time. We are always in touch.

There was a buzz that you are remaking your father's film Mujhe Jeene Do. What's happening with that?

Yes, talks are on. And I have Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead as I don't think I fit the role anymore and we needed a fresh and young face.

Apart from Rascals what else you are working on?

Munnabhai 3 for sure. Then Dhamaal 2 and I shall start shooting for Agneepath. I am looking forward to it. You will keep seeing me in many films with different characters.
