No, I don't want the 'magic' to return; I am glad with the 'realism' that we have today in our films. What did the 90s films accomplish except for making their actresses dance in skimpy clothes in Switzerland's snowy landscape for a seven minutes escapism song, depicting the male figures as some sort of misogynistic, obnoxious jerks, and adding some eye-blindingly 'colorful' songs in them?
There are very, very few films that can stand the test of time. And even fewer films of Bollywood, and that too of the 90s, that can be hailed as 'classics'. But to be fair, it's not like that the movies of 2000s are any better - well, maybe a little better than the ones of the 90s, but that's it. I can't think of many films of this decade either that can be hailed as 'classics'.
That said, there are some movies of the 90s that I adore, not due to the quality or anything of those, but simply for the reason that I grew up watching them. But I wouldn't want anyone to remake those; I'm glad with what we have today.
