But wouldn't the films actually be more successful if there are people like him and the Khans? Scratch that, I meant the Khans?😉

For sure, if Aamir does a film like this, then the film would most definitely have one of the highest profits of the year. Or is there more to this that I can't understand in my economics-failing mind?😆

I understand Akshay's point about Low Budget Films. However, I do think that superstars are often afraid of the Low Budget Label. Personally I think they are scared of taking a chance with it. Although I wish that they would because at times these small budget movies have much more value than the glitz of the big budget flicks. I really liked Udaan and Tere Bin Laden. But then again, these type of films are better off without the big names because the big names often take a lot away from the actual film itself.

Please Akshay, the main reason you wouldn't do a low-budget film is because your fees would cost more than the budget of the entire movie. The reason movies with stars in them have to do so well is because the stars themselves charge a crapload of money to be a part of the film.

And I might be in the minority but to me, low budget films are as commercial as big budget movies. I'd enjoy watching an Udaan over a Singh is King any day.

The fact is that if the Khan's and Akshay were to work in these "small budget films", it would no longer be small budget films.

Stars like Akshay and SRK get paid an average of around 10 crores per movie.... maybe Akshay a little less than SRK but plus or minus in the same price range....

The small budget movies are done within 2-3 crores and they end up making 8-10 crores.... First of all they dont have the budget to fit these stars in... and the stars dont want to cut down their price and work in the low budget ones...
Waise I am glad they stay out of the low budget ones.... With them the total essence of the movie will be lost...

This sort of reminds me of Jennifer Garner with the film Juno. She accepted a much lower payday in order to contain the budget of the film and then charged a small percent of the revenue. It was actually good for her that Juno became a success👍🏼

Personally, I don't think Akshay has it in him to even do well a low-budget film. Stick to your comedies Akki...oh wait🤢

well, it's their bread and butter, more than anything.... if an actor or actress is bankable at the box office, most naturally their price goes up... the price of any actor corresponds directly to their saleability at the box office... i'm sure our actresses would also chare a whopping amount, if they could churn out hits on their own... 😛😛 kareena, ash and priyanka all charge around 5 to 7 crores, don't they... not sure, but they are obviously more seasoned actresses and have a huge fan base, and a pull at the box office, hence the higher fees...
madhuri and sridevi used to charge insane amounts of money though, during their peak...! 😛😛
so really, it's up to the director and the producers... akki is right though about that... 😛😛 heck, aamir has been part of two low budget movies so far, but both of them have been his (or his wive's) home production... 😛😛 don't think any of them would take too much of a paycut... not unless, their market value goes down...!!
if the real actors (according to the critics and others) could get commercial success though their movies, why would the khans and akki be still in the running.... that too, among the top names... 😛😛
