Whenever I come to this forum, theres a certain group of people who are praising the same celebs over and over again.

I would have to say Sonam, the more people like her, the more I dislike her. Kareena to an extent as well, because all I see is praise praise and more praise.

Not too keen on this topic, but I had to comment for several reasons!

1. Ash PMs...I know it's horrid and immature and just plain stupid, but that's one group of loonies...the Ash FC is full of sensible, kind, warm-hearted and sweet ppl...so to hate her b/c of a few nut cases just goes beyond me!

2. Kat fans: okay yeah they think she's queen and all perfection, but as a fan that's what you do...you love your fav despite any flaws and take their side! I mean we all tend to be a little bias when it comes to our favs, so why not kat fans or any other fans! BTW: Kat4Eva....you do a good job of striking a balance!!

3. Rani fans...usually, from my experiences, don't become nasty unless someone provokes them...calling Rani ugly or demented or cheap def crosses a line...so yeah you gotta fight back and defend your fav!

All that being said...the forum is full of many neutral fans(desu, sakina, maddy, lensa, kat, prats, zaru, cutie, kawal, terenaina, qwww, etc....I know I forgot a lot of ppl, but there's so many) and they don't lose their cool unless driven there!!! I can go on and on about all the ppl here that are sensible and kind, but it's so unfair to hate a celeb just b/c a small chunk of fans act crazy!!!

Meh..I don't know if it's just me but I can't hate on celebrities just because of their fan girls/boys. Ok maybe if we're talking about the DMG cast (When Ksg was in JDJ and his fan girls went completely nuts over the judges decisions and yes the past Ridhimas as well 🤪 ) but for the rest, it's the celebs actions, behaviors which make me hate them and not because some Kat/Rani/Sonam/Deepika fan is praising his/her favorites beyond what they should..I just don't care...

Intresting topic!

I am not soo much of a fan of any celebrity nor have been so much active in this forum for me to dislike nay star based on their fan boy and girl.

But one thing I have always wanted to know was why Aishwarya Rai disliked by a lot of people. Recently I was on youtuve lisiting to naina miley from Robot and someone commented there that even the plastic bag is not as plastic as Ash??? 😕 And especially because she married Abhishek.B a lot of people dislike her. And also when ever Ash is mentioned everyone is like ..."oh it' trouble mentioning her here " so I was just wondering.

I would like to add that even I find her interviews not fun to watch and she is not the best actress (but I love how she dances 😳). But every celebrity do have some negative side to them but people dislike Ash like a LOT....just would like to know why.

Obviously the topic doesn't concern the starlets much, as it concerns the behaviors of the ones following them. Of course it's a forum, hence I put forth my view, just as everyone has all of the rights to obsess over their favorites. When the fandom becomes so obsessive, that to a point a member receives PMs on a daily basis, or every other thread is shut because one cannot take in any opposing words regarding their faves, itzzzzz an issue. A major issue. When folks pen down that they cry if someone "hurts" their fillings or they become so carried away that they pretend to be Shahid Kapur or Rani Mukherjee themselves, then it's an issue.

What's up with..."Oh I am their fan, so I can criticize them, but you can't because you aint their fan, hence you just bash." Oh my, gimme a break.

Someone mentioned in this thread, that a fan "must" defend a favorite...sure go ahead, but where does the line need to drawn? You are defending them as a subjective fan, and I am judging them as a subjective fan. Your like is not any more valid than my dislike.

I think its unfair to dislike a celebrity based on their fans but i have to say that i got the nastiest email when i commented on Ash. I chose to ignore it, it didnt bother me at all. But they are some Ash fans who are a little to possessive and they always quote you back which i hate.

Kat fans - i dislike Kat as an actress although i think shes beautiful. I dont wanna hurt her fans but most of them in this forum sound as their pre schoolers esp with they way they comment on KAt's topics its very irritating. for eg: you'll see them commenting " OMGGG kat looks beautiful, hot, amazing, stunning, ravishing, and a million other adjectives like seriously use one damn word!!!

Deepika - i loved deepika until i saw her fans on this FORUM. I can write an essay on her fans but then i dont wanna start any drama. But i defn dont like SOME of the "crazens". Now im just a moderate fan of deepika.

Shahid - i think his fans are young girls going through hormonal changes ... all they care about is goin gaga over shahid's looks and could care less about his acting. simply annoying and immature

Honestly, I've never understood the whole, "omg i have to defend my favorite because i love them and its my duty and i wanna prove that i'm a loyal fan" shiz. Yeah sure, you're a loyal fan but SO WHAT? It doesn't mean that you have to barge into hundreds of topics and go on a rampage to defend or praise who you love. It's even worse when fans cross the line and go on abusing a real person for a celebrity who does not even know they exist.

Like in my case...I'm a big fan of Aishwariya Rai Bachchan since I can't even remember when but I'll never go out of my way to praise her or defend her when others are criticizing her. Infact, one would see me criticizing to the extent where they would question if I'm indeed a fan or not. And why do I do that?...it's because I know that nobody is perfect and me critizing my fav. celeb would not make me any less of a fan. To state it honestly...I like to read criticism on my fav. celebrity because it gives me the chance to understand another person's point of view and think with an open-mind.

I'm not saying that fans should stop defending or praising their favorite. All I'm tryna say is that they shouldn't shove that celebrity in other people's face and should not cry foul when other members are criticizing that celebrity. If a fan has the right to praise/love/drool/defend their favorite celebrity, then the other side has EQUAL right to criticize or point out flaws of that same celebrity. This whole, "you are not a fan, so you can't talk about her/him and criticize her/him" thing does not make sense at all. It never has and never will.

Also...I've never received a filthy PM from a certain Aishwariya Rai fan that many seem to be mention (thank god) but I just gotta say one thing....it reminds me of the many hate PMs that I've received from KSG/JW fans. Seriously now....only a psycho would call a real person a terrorist and tell them to go die for criticizing KSG/JW.

Not everyone is an overzealous or rabid fangirl/fanboy but yeah...the ones who are out there are the ones I'm referring to. Seriously....there are some fans on I-F (and on other sites) that give a bad names to other fans who are normal and level-headed.

yes, it is a forum, and of course you can put forth your views here just like everyone else... however, this forum, last i checked was for discussing everything that concerns bollywood, not so much about the behaviour of fans... if you are having issues with some fan who is PMing you on a daily basis, i suggest you take it up with the mods...! 😛😛 is it this forum you are taking about though...? 😛😛😛

what amuses me most is the self righteousness of certain members... and i for one, do not believe in extremes... neither do i support bashing of members because they criticize a celeb, nor do i support bashing of members because they are being 'overzealous' fans... 😛😛😛

and no, i don't think it is a fan's duty to defend their favourite... what good does that achieve...??

you wanna discuss and put forth your views, go right ahead... i just don't know why you need to create a topic just to pick on certain fans... 😛😛

i agree with your last line though... we all have certain outlooks for different situations... what is right for me, may be wrong for you... and vice versa...!!

if it is another forum that you are hinting about, i think you should take up the issue with the concerned mods there... instead of generalizing all the fans with one paint brush... every celeb has all sorts of fans... 😛
