Aamir meets Obama

One of the rarest and luckiest persons who got to meet the President of US was our very own actor Aamir Khan who was invited by India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his his 7, Race Course Road residence to have dinner with the President. Along with Aamir Khan was Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were quite lucky to meet him.

Aamir Khan told the reporters, "I was glad that PM Manmohan ji invited me for dinner. I am a big fan of Manmohan ji and I am glad that he gave me such an opportunity to meet the President of US."

So what conversation did he shared with Obama, "President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films," shared Aamir Khan.

Were there any expectations from the US President? "We expect a lot from him even me. But right now let him enjoy the food. But of course we all hope for development of our country," says Aamir.

Bollywood's Obama salute

Mumbai: Though musician AR Rahman couldn't make it to the dinner hosted by India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for US President Barack Obama in New Delhi, actors Aamir Khan, Shabana Azmi and writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar came back charmed!

"President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films. It (the dinner) was an opportunity to meet big personalities. I am a big fan of Manmohanji and I'm happy that he invited me," said Aamir, who was dressed in a cream coloured kurta for the dinner on Sunday night.

"The dinner platter was great and the First Lady told me that she danced to one of my songs (the Rang De Basanti number, while playing hopscotch with special children in Mumbai)," Aamir added.
But the biggest high for the star was when President Obama told him that he's aware of the films that he's worked in. "President Obama said he has heard about my work and my films," said a visibly jubilant Aamir.

Actor-activist Shabana Azmi was inundated with a lot of calls from the media, and in response tweeted, "Guys, I'm not a reporter and I have no intentions of describing the menu clothes etc of Obama dinner at (the) PM (House in New Delhi). Yes, all guests did speak to (the) President and (his) wife."

"India used to be the recipient of USA's aid. Today we are in a position to provide jobs to USA. So a confident India welcomes Obama with her head held high," she added.

aamir is probably on cloud 9, SRK went searching for president in whole US and president was available in Taj,hehehe

Wasn't there news that srk took a flight back to also meet Obama but Aamir was invited he was not

^^^ no srk is bg shooting in berlin, he was not invited at all, i heard somewhere Kjo was invited but he was down with malaria so he couldn't attend the dinner

even me wondering how come people like SRK and Amit ji not invited here??

Why the HELL would KJo be invited to meet President Obama?

Some closeted gay dude who makes overwrought cinematic melodramas featuring the man he's in love with is NOT representative of the best of Indian cinema!

That would be like introducing Paris Hilton to Manmohan Singh
