Abhishek replaces Saif in Race 2

Ever since the Saif Ali Khan-Anil Kapoor-Akshaye Khanna-Katrina Kaif starrer Race was declared a hit, there have been talks of a sequel to the film. The latest buzz in the industry is that Abhishek Bachchan will step into Saif Ali Khan's shoes in the film. Race 2 will also star Anil Kapoor and John Abraham.

Our source said, "Saif is playing the lead in Vishal Bharadwaj's next with Deepika Padukone. He is also acting in Kunal Kohli's next. The actor has also been with his own film Agent Vinod. With this kind of a tight schedule Saif had no option but to opt out of Race 2."

Apparently, clashing dates between Vishal's film and Race 2 was the reason why Saif chose to leave the latter. Director duo Abbas Mastan are keen to have Abhishek Bachchan on board, according to rumours. Talks are on between them. But, when contacted, producer Ramesh Taurani denied the rumour and said, "As of now Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham are in Race 2."
