Hii,

For this week's movie discussion I've decided to go with Dhoom starring: John Abraham, Abhishek, Uday, Esha Deol and others
vs.
Dhoom II starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Bipasha Basu and others.
To get the discussion started:
~Which one of the series did you perfer?
~ Your thoughts on the music?
~ There have been a lot of rumors of Dhoom 3, who'd you like to see casted in this movie?
Feel free to post your thoughts on either movies!

personally like Dhoom 1 better than Dhoom 2, just caz it was original , funnier and slicker...! Each and every charecter in Dhoom 1 was perfect. Abhi, Uday and John were outstanding.
the only good thing about Dhoom 2 was Hrithik Roshan..without a doubt, he carried the whole movie as usual. He looked the best out of the both series.
Music wise also Dhoom 1 was better.
As for Dhoom 3, i would love to see both hrithik and John come together for the series. No Aish plzzz..she was damn annoying. I actually dont know who i would like in terms of actresses.

Dhoom 1 I don't remember much, need to watch it again. But saw Dhoom 2 couple of days back on TV. My god.....was it a hamfest throughout or what? When i first watched D2 back in 2006, I thought Hrithik was the only good thing. In retrospect, boy was I wrong.

Hrithik: His body was the only good thing. I'm sorry but the action, special effects and all that costume change looked comical to me. On top of that, the way he kept trying to imitate batman made me cringe. I wonder how I did not notice this the first time I watched it.

Bipasha: Not much to do beside roam around in itsy bitsy clothes and mouth couple of "badass" dialogues.

Uday and Aishwarya: WORST PART OF THE FILM. What the hell was that "are you like checking me out" dialogue supposed to make us think. Her character made me pull my hair out for real. And Uday, good thing he's a flop actor or else we'd have to endure his gaudy attempt at acting all the time.

Abhisekh: The sole saving grace of the otherwise doomed dhoom. He was decent despite Hrithik and Aish stealing all the limelight with their OTT expressions and hammy acting.

As for music, don't remember any from either movie besides the title song. They did not stay with me, very fleeting.

Dhoom 3: No thank you.

Let me first talk about Dhoom 2, It was a huge disappointment. I didn't liked Dhoom 2 at all. I only liked crazy kiya re and Dhoom track videos. Ash wasn't even comfortable in her role and rest of the team were a disappointment. Only Hrithik looked good, his stunts was a joke. It just didn't make any sense to me. I know i have heard so much from people about special effect but it was like WTH moments. At one point he is roller skating and other second he would be jumping on the train. Just didn't made any sense.

Dhoom 1 was so much better. No one really cared about the movie when it was coming out. But it was a good movie. I loved Abhishek and John performances. It was John who promoted bikes and yes he CAN act, he didn't had many dialogues but proved his acting by expressions. I would love to see John and Bips in Dhoom 3.

Not a big fan of the Dhoom series, D1 was pretty okay, timepass.

But D2 was so bad.... everything was bad, Abhishek looked like he could not be bothered, Hrithik focussed only on looking good and forgot about acting, Bipasha's bikni was the only thing worth speaking, Uday was excrutiatingly crap and Ash... as a fan of Ash I have got to say this was her worst movie. When she said 'Are you like checking me out' I rolled down laughing. What was she thinking?

Both were crapfests IMO. Not one charactar or actor stood out. My son loved D2 so I guess it was made fro 5 year olds.

muhahahaha....they werent films!!! there were just mere concoctions of pretty people, doing some "cool" things.
I think this is how the director made the script:

Lets have some really good looking stars wearing some sexy outfits and parade it around in slow motion in every single shot of the film.
Lets have a few snazzy music videos with awsome choreography.
Lets have some "hair raising stunts" and disguises coz you kno, we wanna show we are no less than hollywood in terms of thrills, action, make-up and costume.
Lets have drop dead gorgeous thieves and a police man who has one expression pasted on his face throughout the film.
Lets have a gal in a bikini...never mind if her role is completely useless..
Lets have "cool" dialogs like "I think we'll have fun" and "hes a brilliant thief" along with uday chopras ONLY claim to fame - his "look what an awsomely funny tapori I make" act.

Volia....u have a Dhoom movie!!!!

Not going to lie -- when I first watched D2, I liked it. Pssh. Don't judge - I was 4 years younger. I think I liked it because I had somewhat of a crush on Hrithik (which has thankfully outgrown due to his disasterous beard et al) and eyecandy is always good. I really did think Aishwarya-Hrithik had pretty good chemistry - and I still do after J-A but hell, I cringe when I think back. It really doesn't have much going for it in terms of script, acting, or anything else really. Most scenes are ridiculous, the "thrilling heists" were shoddily written, and I would say 'glaring plotholes' but that would imply the presence of a plot which D2 does not have. On the brighter side, it did provide me and my Indian friends with a good drinking game at New Year's -- raise your shot glass each time Aishwarya says "like". Dhoom was kind of better but even that's not saying much. As for Dhoom 3, no thanks.

D2 was awsum and it was the first indian film to make it to the world stunt awards, and hrithik also got the best actor award for it! he did all the stunts himself unlike hollywood where most of the time computer graphics are used! and the gun shot scene between aish and hrithik was simply awsum!!--for the kareena fans it is her fav movie she said it herself that she can watch it over and over again. Also D2 here in Australia did soo very well that it stayed in cinemas for the whole 2 months and continued to come back a few times in film festivals.

the only bits i lyked was ash dancing and the songs
crazy kiya re
the rest of the songs are nice to watch once but the second time u will get bored
nd also, der is too much adventurous stuff in the movie, like hritik and ash jumping from the mountain (whatver it is)
nd hritik on the train, etc.
