I loved Sonam, I loved Ranbir but I did not like Saawariya.
From the promos, it looks different and there was something magical about it but the film was a let down. Music was amazing but i think the film needed fewer songs and a tighter, faster screenplay. The film was a bit slow.
But Sonam and Ranbir did there part well and look at the films they are doing these days! Not everyone gets a SLB launch. He must have seen something in them.

Saawariya was an amazing film! People didn't like it, but it was such a sweet, nice movie! I really liked the "blue" of the film, the settings, the songs, the actors, everything was so beautiful!
Idk why many people didn't like it, but it was a cute love story.
Did you watch Saawariya?
Yupp! In the theatres! Haha.
After watching it what did you think about it?
I got out of the theatre, and I asked my self, "what was so bad about this movie?..why do people hate it so much?" Seriously, its unnecessarily hated and scorned by the critics. Its a different kind of movie..it was like a broadway show!
If you did not like it, choose one good aspect of the movie
I liked it! Lol.
If you liked it, choose one bad aspect of the movie
Bad aspect?! There really isn't anything that bad. Acting was good, songs were good, setting was good, and people complain about the story, but thats how its supposed to be; a tale of two people meeting at night.
What did you think about the songs?
Songs are amazing. I don't think I have ever heard such magical songs!
Do you have a favorite song?
I loveee all! Saawariya is so nice to hear to! Lovee Jab Se Tere Naina! Thode Badmash is so good! Jaan-e-jaan is beautiful! Yoon Shabnami is fun, I love the last part especially, when only the music is playing! Maasha-allah, is truly maasha-allah! Lol. Chabeela, Pari, Sawar Gayi, and Daras Bina Nahi Chain are all amazing as well!
As it was a debut movie, how did you find the newcomers (acting, persona etc)?
Ranbir and Sonam were so good!
Ranbir as Raj acted so nicely, especially during the emotional scenes. He made me cry in the end.
Sonam as Sakina was so beautiful! Her acting was good as well! She should have won the best newcomer award, but oh well.
How did the characters stand out?
The characters stood out well. Raj's immense love for Sakina was beautiful! The way he wrote her name on the walls was so cute! Loved it all!!
Sakina's undying love for Imaan stood-out the most!
Rani's character was a prostitute, but I think her caring for Raj is the thing that stood out the most. I love how she told Raj to leave, when he came to her and said he wanted to be with her. She was different with Raj, good different.
Other than the two newcomers, who else caught your attention (if at all)?
Rani. She did a great job!
Anything I've missed?
Nope :)
Lol, so I can talk about this movie forever! It's the only movie I have ever been so excited for! When the bad reviews came, I was so sad..but when I saw the movie myself, I loved it!

I liked the film a lot. Yes, it was a bit slow and in some portions it did drag slightly. But I am prepared to overlook all that because I thought the film was beautiful :) I thought Sonam and Ranbir did justice to their characters. Sonam looked like a classic beauty and Ranbir was adorable. I also thought that Rani was a lil dynamite onscreen. Salman, however, didn't have much to do. Overall, I appreciated the film and it didn't bother me that the film failed at the BO because I personally enjoyed it ;)

I love this movie. The first time I saw it - It was in bits and pieces so I really didnt get it but then I watched it start to finish at one go and I really liked it. I loved the music - all of them were beautiful and picturized beautifully. It was a movie made for Ranbir so he stole the show for me. Sonam was pretty good for her first film. All the characters were good.Costumes were nice as well. There was a lot of symbolism in the movie which I loved. I just love the dream like setting of the whole film. If you think about it Ranbir the main character is right where he started at the end of the movie. It has this tragic Russian novel feel to it.

After watching it what did you think about it? It did put me in quite a dreamy and relaxed mood, but I felt a bit letdown by the storyline, especially the ending
If you did not like it, choose one good aspect of the movie
Sakina's costumes and the general scenery etc
What did you think about the songs?
Loved them, they were really pretty and romantic, and the choreography etc was good too
Jab Se Tere Naina cracked me up
Do you have a favorite song?
Probably Chabeela, as I loved Rani in the movie
As it was a debut movie, how did you find the newcomers (acting, persona etc)?
I thought they fitted their characters well and had passionate chemistry
How did the characters stand out?
Sakina looked gorgeous and Raj was a good lovestruck lover
Other than the two newcomers, who else caught your attention (if at all)?
Rani, she was both funny and lovable

I have lots to say.....but won't say much ha ha! I think I have more complaints about the movie now that I have distanced myself from it....I am still protective of it but not as much as I used to be. I think the characters lacked depth because they were not well defined especially Sakina and Imaan. They were both sketchy. SLB was too busy paying tribute to Raj Kapoor and forgot about Sakina and Imaan!!!! Technically the film is brilliant....each frame is magnificent....some scenes are absolutely brilliant....that you have to go "STUNNING"....music is superb....the whole set up was soooo dreamy....sigh.

BTW....when Avatar came out and the movie was all blue and nobody made fun of it but went ooh aah about it....I remembered Saawariya. LOL!

I watched it online and fell in love with it !

I guess I'm the only person who liked both OSO and Saawariya , just saawariya a tad more ! The best thing about the movie is - it is open to interpretations - there are so many things you can conclude about the characters - it's all about perception ! I fell in love with the character of Sakina - she's someone I can relate to - I saw myself in her ! her anonymity - her mystery - her devotion , yet a slight tinge of rebellion by escaping and waiting every night - I can relate to every about her ! she was truly the woman of contradictions .... the first time I saw her she reminded me of Garbo's persona and her mystery . I still watch the movie every time I get a chance :)
