yes, most definately yes! especially because no srk, hrithik movie released that year and also because this movie was highly entertaining wid a very good message
~What made this movie work?
the youthfullness, the freshness, the bonding of the friends, the funny comic scenes, emotional scenes, the purpose of the film, the movie was highly entertaining wid great entertaining songs, and friendship based movies set in college r very entertaining as it is the best phase in most people's lives and also the most difficult and this movie has been able to grasp that really well! the pressure on the college students, the pressure of indian parents was shown in a realtsic way wid good intentions, this movie gives a message that we have becum robotic in our ways and there is no bravery in being a slave of the social system but there is bravery to break away from it and do wat ur heart wants, it shows that every person as it's calling not everyone has to become an engineer or a doctor! it tells us profession is about passion and not the economy or the social pressure! and education also is suppose to be about passion, aamir was passionate about education, so much so that he did not even get educated for a degree! i love this film such a good message given out entertainingly, sum sequences r really funny, sum sequences r emotional, sum r bonding moments, sum r feeel good moments, and sum r thinking and intriguing moments, this movie never gets boring, also great credit goes to chetan bhagat to write a script that carries such a strong message! and shame on the director raju hirani who has been taking awards for the script and not even thanking or mentioning chetan bhaggat!
~What did you think of the music?
-amazing songs, and amazing choice of singers, and amazing music, all the songs r very nice to hear and are picturised soo well, cn't get over the song zoob doobi--because of the picturisation and 2 of my fav singers sonu nigam and shreya ghoshal, then i love the song 'bheti hawa sa tha woh'---very niceeee song, amazing singing by shaan and i also love the way this song is picturised with reflection and simla in the background, loved 'all is well'--I put it on my ipod when i feel down especially due to college work---love it, and love the way it is picturised!---soo much fun, felt like being there wid them! also love the song 'jaane nahin dege tujhe'---amazingly sung by sonu nigam shows the pain of the friends!
~What are you overall thoughts on this movie?
amazing movie! and deserves all the success it has got, highly entertaining with a good social message, a rarity in indian cinema today!
