Rhea, were sal and kat also aligned with Videocon? Coz i know saifu and bebo were endorsing videocon as well.

From what i hear, the videocon team were upset since they had already submitted a bid, but the rules changed at the last minute.

Yes,I think all of them were with Videocon.Not very sure though.

Videocon plans to rope in Abhishek Bachchan as the brand ambassador for its franchise in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League in 2011, while Adani Group is in talks to get Salman Khan on board. These two corporations are the strongest contenders to win the bids for the two new franchises, which will open on Sunday, informed sources said.

While Videocon is bidding for Pune, Adani has its eyes glued on Ahmedabad. Apart from Pune and Ahmedabad, IPL had offered Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Vizag, Rajkot, Cuttack, Baroda, Kochi, Indore and Gwalior as options to prospective franchises. The spokespersons for Videocon and Adani Group did not comment.

Filmstars Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn had earlier shown interest to own a team in the 2011 season of IPL. That could not happen as a bidder needs to have a net worth of $1 billion (Rs 4,550 crore) to qualify. This is a good chance for Khan and Bachchan to get associated with the cricket carnival. Khan has endorsed brands like Chlor-Mint, Thums Up and Red Tape, while Bachchan has lent himself to Idea Cellular, Ford and Lux.

IPL, since its inception in 2008, has had its share of glamour from filmdom. Kolkata Knight Riders is owned by Shah Rukh Khan's company Red Chillies, Preity Zinta is a co-owner of Kings XI Punjab and Shilpa Shetty, along with husband Raj Kundra, owns a stake in Rajasthan Royals. Katrina Kaif is a brand ambassador of Bangalore's Royal Challengers.

In addition, top names from Bollywood like Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora and Priyanka Chopra have in the past attended matches to add the entertainment quotient. Videocon and Adani Group clearly want to leave no stone unturned.

Around 15 people had picked up the "invitation to tender" forms for Rs 5 lakh each. However, most of them did not submit their bids due to stiff financing norms. ICICI Ventures, Jaypee Associates, Hero Honda and Sahara are some companies that did not submit their bids.

Two investors, apart from Adani and Videocon, who have bid are UAE's Prince Al-Waleed, the promoter of Rotana Group, and a Pune-based consortium which has a local vaccine tycoon as a partner. Al-Waleed might find it difficult to win as all bidders are required to have some experience in sports sponsorship, said the sources

Ok so it was videocon and adani.

Man, lost out on seeing two cute couples, sal kat, and saifu/bebo.

Oh well, maybe its for the best. Remember what happened to Ness and Preity when they went in for IPL?

I'm superstitious, lol. Let these two couples stay together. Even if IPL is the price for it, haha

I wish they could have bought it but when you look at the larger picture,it is too big an investment.

The IPL teams which Srk,Preity ,Ambanis bought are dirt cheap compared to the new teams.There is no surety that they will make profit coz it will take so long for them to even recover their investment.

Let's hope they stay together forever....In that way, significant issues in India will be resolved and everything will be fine. 😊

And it has nothing to do with the absurdity of getting a cricket team for the sake of it and auto self promotion, can't they just reinvest their "extra" money in something a bit more relevant for their country?

It's quite a farce that so many celebs believe they're sportsmen for some reason..Is this the new way for them to get attention in another field rather than cinema only or to establish a new club of rich & beautiful people...Can't they just stick to entertainment.....?😃*

And of course Ness & Preity's break up has to do with IPL not the fact they were probably not made for each other. And before investing money together, one has to be sure of what he/she does. Because no matter what happens in the couple - they're bound with a contract baby...

Well as long as baby Pataudi and Airhead remain a couple, I guess everything is quite ok. Since the essential point of that circus is about them remaining the hottest couple in B-town and comforting the sweet sleep of their fans.

In that way, I follow the path, hope KKR/IPL won't make SRK& Gauri apart, Jay and Juhi apart, Shilpa & Raj apart -- because it is all about Tinsel town couples and their well being related to IPL not their sudden and doubtful interest to earn easy money and to be all over the news...

Doing charity on your own is less glamorous and focusing on your acting doesn't get you an efficient limelight....

btw SRK said himself that he bought a cricket team because it was the national popular sport- as far as he is concerned he LOVES soccer not so much cricket...🥱
