I'm just going to speak for Aish here. Mumbai Mirror did an Unprofessional act by printing that article. How insensitive can they get. I don't even care if the article is true or not. Why are the media on Aish's back about the whole pregnancy? Does a woman have to have a baby in order to be called a woman? If she wants to have a baby later than that's fine.

I work in a hospital so I know it's perfectly fine to have a baby in your late 30's or while your in your 40's

Ok, the paper in question is Mumbai Mirror a newpaper?? with no credibility and who give new meanings to yellow journalism and they have no valid source or author. I think the bachchans are over reacting. I can understand their reaction if this news was printed on the front page of national newspaper.
By reacting with letters, tweets and blogs they are making it a bigger issue than it is.

She's 36, Demi Moore had a child at 40 and some lady in Britain had a baby at 65, so Ash it's fine! Plus, Abhi is still young! But the article was just plain bologna!

Demi Moore did NOT have a child at 40 LOL, she tried with Ashton but it didn't happen. She's 47.

Abhi can have a baby even at the age of 70 so it doesn't matter. Perhaps ash will be able to have one after 40, everyones different. It's not that she can't, it's just that chances are decreased FOR WOMEN, NOT MEN.

ya it was cheap on MM to write this article but that's what tabloids do to sell their news. and if bachchans got this offended then they should have sue them , wat's the point of writing letters and all?

Mumbai Mirror, you have erred. If you profess to be the keepers of justice and fair play. If you profess to be bound by the ethics of your code of conduct. If you have any respect for your profession …

Endless friends and those that we do not know have sent in hundreds of sms's expressing their disgust for the Mumbai Mirror and its callous behavior…

This morning as I got off the plane from Delhi I had a call from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, asking me to call him back. When I did he said -

" Mr Bachchan, I have called to congratulate you on your stand against the Mumbai Mirror. We are Government servants and even though there are many occasions when we wish to express our anguish and ire, we have to restrain ourselves because of the job we hold and respect, but I am so glad that you have said what you did in your blog. This is unpardonable what the paper has done. I just want you to know that I am with you. If there is anything that I can do, let me know."

Abhishek and Aishwarya attended a wedding of a friend last night and the moment they walked in, there was a spontaneous applause from the guests. Then something strange happened. All the guests at the wedding huddled around Abhishek and Aishwarya and started shouting in one voice -

"We are with you !!!"

This has never been seen before and I am thankful to the public and the people for expressing their solidarity to us as a family and to the cause per se.

For all those that do not have access to the Indian press, let me tell you that each one of them, barring of course the Times Group carried contents of the blog and narrated the injustice meted out to us. I thank the saner media for this.

The Hindu for example carried Letters to the Editor and there is a bunch of letters that do not talk about the incident we are involved in but, do express the general feeling for the media in not so generous a manner . Here it is -

In all the effort to get what I needed to say about the press article I completely overlooked the event that took place last evening in Delhi.

Your dear friend and fellow member, the writer and originator of this blog, yours truly, was awarded the ParHassi Raja Award by the President of India at a formal ceremony in Rastrapati Bhavan last evening. Yes! It was wrong of MM to print those derogatory remarks about Ash but I still don't understand what's the need for all these hue and cry...It's not like Ashwarya hasn't had these kinds of rumors swirling before...
It's been years since we have heard rumors of how she is trying for a baby, prior to that there were rumors of her being "MANGLIK"....If Bachan's can take that, why are they making a big deal out of it now...and why didn't they create this kind of hoopla the last time????
