Giving him credit Where? Why not right before or after write names comes? After watching the video, everything is clear. Btw It's not CB who is taking 3I writer producer or director to the court, vice versa. Is it a crime to write what you feel on the blog? For God Sake CB didn't even filed a case. WHICH HE SHOULD HAD. A writer whose books been bestseller doesn't need publicity and it's a shame aamir thinks like that. 3I team could had explained in a better way, they made CB as he is starving to have limelight.

Let assume movie has nothing to do with the book, why did VVC shouted at the reporters? what was the need to tell one reporter to SHUT UP? If aamir didn't took VVC mike, i wonder what hungama would had happened. 3 people should come upfront: Writer(3 Idiots), Hirani, and VVC. I respect CB, he was so nice to say aamir khan is his role model.

Once again, based on novel implies something liek Harrpy Potter series, where everything progresses scene for scene.

3 Idiots is a different case. I think "inspired by novel" would have been more accurate, but from teh ppl i talked ot, they said there were quite a lot of differences between the book and novel.

donnu which ppl u talked to, but the ppl who read the book they said its 70 % same as the book...including big writers and jrns like pritish anndy, vir sanghvi and shashi tharoor all r with CB.....and if Raju, VVR right then why not coming forward and clearing things, replying to CB instead of saying Shut Up to Jrns.....

Talkign about normal members on forums i visited who reviewed the film. I konw some of em were anxous before movie relased coz they werent sure how a movie liek FPS could translate, and they reviewed it was quite differnet from the book.

Adn I will find it quite HILARIOUS if sites like bollywoodhungama publish articles about supporting Chetan because Bwoodhungama themselves have stolen COUNTLESS pics and claimed them as their own withtout giving the original owners rights.

Who the hell cares if it was inspired or based on, at the end, it all comes up to the story idea OF CB.

Coming to the controversy, I definitely feel CB should be given the opening credit. There r a lot of similarities between the book and the film. I have read the book TWICE. To begin with, aamir's character rancho is totally ryan oberoi (in the book) except that ryan is poor in scoring marks. they had to make rancho the topper to justify his life that he lived before college. then Maddy is the narrator and so is hari in the book. he should have got the girl and not sharman (somebody mentioned it in one of the posts). Since aamir is the hero obviously he would get the girl in the film.

Then the other guy in the book alok makes a suicide attempt and yes sharman too does it. and kareena's bro commits suicide which everyone mistakes for an accident and so does neha's bro (in the book) and yes for the exact reason mentioned in the film. and lot of scenes r taken from the book like sharman being poor, dad being ill, unmarried sis and maddy having no voice in front of his dad etc etc.

I am not saying that the film is the exact replica of the book but come on at the end of the day , its almost his story. How can someone take the essence and claim it to be their own and give CB credit at the end where nobody notices. where is it gonna hurt them by just saying "inspired by 5pt someone" at the beginning. I am disappointed with the team.

The accusation on CB is just pointless. But hey great publicity for 3 idiots👏👏

From the ppl that read the book, the movie is compeltely different. Yes some scenes are taken from in there, but the start, the climax, the story, the journey, the delivery scene, nothing was in teh book. Kareena ends up with SHARMAN in the book. They changed everything in the movie.

Changing, adding minute details doesnt take away from the fact that Hirani wouldnt have come up with the IDEA if it wasnt for FPS. The idea, premise and characters is the main point. If they didnt want to give him credit in the beginning...they couldve ATLEAST had "inspried by FPS" right after the movie ends, all by itself in a large enough font. The par that's sucky and harsh is that his name comes in between other names in a small font. I'm sorry but I dont see how people can justify that kind of a treatment to someone who gave the PREMISE of the movie.

Point is, 3 idiots wouldnt have come to existence if it wasnt for FPS. Raju himself said that. So that in itself requires a proper huge credit to the original creator.

The 'source material' is listed after the Action Director and the Still Photographer! Lame.

And for Amir to say that VVC should sue Chetan is outrageously insensitive. And funny thing, he hasnt even read the damn book.
