Replacement theory

After handing over Kites to Brett Ratner to cut the Hollywood version of Kites, Rakesh Roshan is all gung ho about directing the sequel to Krrish himself

Rakesh Roshan has always been very possessive about his home productions. It has been reported that Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra was taken onboard to direct Krrish 3. But after the debacle of Delhi 6, Rakesh Roshan doesn't want to take any chances and has decided to direct the film himself.

A source reveals, "Hrithik is more comfortable working with his father. He is also helping him with the script. They want it to attain Hollywood standards and are leaving no stone unturned to make it work. Though, senior Roshan was convinced of Mehra's directorial credentials, Hrithik was skeptical."

Mehra or no Mehra, the scripting is in process. The source continues, "Presently, the father-son duo is busy with Kites and don't want to hamper the post-production. Only after the release of Kites, they will start working on Krrish 3. Whenever Hrithik is not shooting and is at home, he joins his father and the team of writers and takes part in discussions on every detail pertaining to the film."

Rakesh Roshan confirms, "I am directing Krrish 3. I am still in the scripting process and there is still time for the movie to go on the floors." When asked about Rakesh Mehra's earlier involvement, he says, "We had spoken to Mehra, but he got busy with Delhi 6 and we were busy with Kites, so nothing was finalised."

However, Mehra says, "I was never directing Krrish 3."
