He could have said: a) No comment. b)I know nothing about NY. c) I have watched NY but NY and Kurbaan are not very similar. Or, finally d) the comment he ended up making.

hes ONLY trying to say that there's no similarity b.w. the movies and he knows this because he was offered a role and read the script. he doesnt bring the movie down by only stopping at i read the script, he continues to clarify that i only refused it because it was more of a younger film.

My point is that we never hear Saif talk about being offered a role in a movie which bombed at the box office. The coincidences are bit too pat, to be honest.
