Yes Riya I agree.. I have to give it to Shahid for creating this euphoria around him. He did go through a rough patch but he bounced back.. and there was a time when people were making fun of him and had written him off.. but he continued and worked hard and bounced back.. People (even me) picked on him about him being too inspired by Srk.. I remember in KWK.. Kjo asked him that what do you think about this srk connect and Sha said that its a compliment and I take it well.. He never dampened his spirits despite the criticism and see now where he is.. he has achieved a lot despite all the odds.. Now this kinda attitude rocks.. most of the stars that are big today have faced tough times but its your ability to rise through these times and fight back is what makes the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.. All these star sons are great.. its just if they should take things seriously and try to learn faster and adapt and then they can do much better. But I still think that fresh young talent should be encrouraged and our in grown Indian talent should be appreciated we have a very talented bright and ambitious pool of youth who can definately take bolly to the next level if given a chance.

And I just remembered from Riyas post. Like Mr. Zayed Khan...I dont even know he exists in Bollywood; he has that kinda attitudes just coz his dad is soo freakin rich hving his own golf course. His interview today, I hvent been taking it seriously but I hve to know and bla bla was so not cool. He needs to first go learn the ABC of acting before signing his next.
I dont see the kind of drive Mr. Amitabh Bachchan or Aamir Khan had during their young days. I dont like AB senior or Aamir but they are talented ppl. Aamir works very hard for his movies and we all know that. Mr. AB had continuous flops altogether but that didnt give him away and contributed to his 40 years in Bollywood.
But todays young stars, they hve already thought of themselves as superstars. Like Deeps was saying about Ranbir in one interview, calling him a superstar.....I was like I should remind her, DEEPIKA, he is just 3 movies old???? :S
Someone knock some sense in all of them.!

Yeah he was kicked around for a quite a while, three of his films flopped in a month and he was really down while shooting for Vivah. He said he was always down while shooting for that film, but whenever he checked his shots on the monitor, he knew that he does know his job. Thats why he did JWM, to gain the director's respect. Like Vishal said, he is an intelligent actor. Not many actors are "intelligent" these days, I think SRK and Aamir are intelligent actors, and thats why they are huge in Bollywood.

A lot of these star sons will make it big eventually, and will become better actors but that would take them like two decades. Being called a decent actor by two decades is no achievement, I think. The media hypes these star sons, people know about them before they even make their debut. Girls go ga-ga over them even before their first film releases, all because of the media. Now any producer would like to cast a hyped actor who already has fangirls before his debut over a newbie, who has no hype surrounding him, and the public doesnt give a shit about him. When I told my mom about Ishq Vishk, she was like, "yeh hero kaun hai? Shaheeeeed? I dont wanna watch his movie." But when Saawariya came out, she really wanted to check out Ranbir and Sonam, all because of the hype. Its the charisma that wins over people eventually, and thats why my mom would rather watch a Shahid over any other star kid's film. Sadly, these star kids are given too many opportunities, so eventually they do succeed.

Random example-Koko is from a filmy family too, but is she as hyped as Kareena Kapoor? Def no.

LOL.. just kidding yaar you guyz should post.. this is a public forum.. no one can stop you.. U guyz are nice you should contribute a bit more in non rani topics if you dont mind me saying that .. and you can post stuff about Rani also.. no probs.. But I do admire your passion towards Rani.. I really do!

Well it is hard when you are bracketed as just Shani ans Rani fan. I mean I like Shahid and he is my favorite actor but people do not seem to know that about me(also because he is well defended here). I do like other actresses and actors as well. They just assume I like Rani and Shani and that is it. I do post in other topics but it is just that I do post extensively in the controversial Shani vs. ShahidCousins. Therefore, everyone thinks I do not like to comment on other topics but I like to comment in Bollywood-at-large topics as well. It is just that I have kept away from the BS section lately because of all the stuff that has been happening.

I agree it was easier to make it big in 90's cauz there werent many star sons at that time and most of the stars in those days were self made and some even came from very humble beginnings like Govinda he used to live in a slum in virar and he is totally self made, Sals dad was big in bolly but his dad's career was shakey at that time so even he had to struggle.. Aamir was the only one who was properly launched by his family. But I have to say that time was perfect for newcomer and we have gotten true legends out of that time. Its shameful though as we have progressed as a civilizaiton (too heavy a word) but whaever ya as we have progressed in terms of society our work ethics have gotten worse. I seriously believe that west is what it is because of their sound ethical culture, the working culture all the bound rules and the fact that they follow rules and go by them in each and every situation without making exceptions. The discipline, the passion the sincerity towards work that is there in west is totally unmatched. At the end of the day its just a job to be done in a particular manner with the right ethics and success would be yours.. but that is just hardly there in Bollywood.. where ethics and rules are made fun of and hardly followed.

@ Gabi: I appreciate your honesty but I want you to know that I personally dont hold any grudges against you and as far as I know the people here I dont think anyone does.. All of us have gotten into fights for our favs here before and we have always moved on from it.. without holding any grudges.. at the end of the day its just world wide web I mean who carez its not like we have to marry each other.. LOL.. so all of us here dont dig that deep into stuff we have said in the past. I think you should do whatever makes you happy and never be hesitant to speak your mind and express your opinions here.. So as I said listen to your heart and do what feels right.. but from our side we dont hold anything against you.. atleast I dont and I am pretty sure no one else does either.. So keep posting here and see you around.

Yeah seriously Adios and me have gotten into so many arguments but we still continue commenting on each other's posts. I used to be pretty diplomatic, but since the forum has become boring I am trying to be a little more blunt. So people should continue posting and get into fights even. Like Adios said this is just the internet. It really doesn't affect our lives.

Well I along with a few other members here recently have tried to be cynics, but this place has still turned out to be very boring. When I was a silent reader of this place, I recall fans ripping each other apart to prove their points, and in the end nothing would be achieved. Those were the days. Now the topics are too repetitive and simply don't have the spice needed.

From what I have observed, I don't think this place as it is currently will keep me clinging, which also explains as why members are not active.

Oh, and it's not as if I agree with everything I write, because after all it's the cyber world. Seriously though, drooling over dimples, hair styles, muscles, jodis is utterly repulsive to say the least.

It does not affect me at all. I am used to getting into arguments. However, it can be very tiring because some of the arguments are just incoherent. I am fine with argumentation but they should have some rhyme and reason behind them. Therefore, it was better for me not to be around at that time because unnecessary bashing of anyone is uncalled for. I am fine with giving arguments for and against my favorites but there is a line of respect. I felt that has been violated, especially when it means attacking the fans.

I also do agree that one tends to get boxed into some group and it tends to stick.
