First, I thought Kareena was good in JWM and it is one of my favorite movies but I though that Kareena did overact a couple of times in the movie while Shahid was perfect. Looking back on it I think that Rani would have been a good choice and nailed the part of Geet entirely.

Secondly, after seeing Shani in action I could not help but wonder how much better their chemistry than that of Shahid-Kareena. Shahid-Kareena chemistry is great but it was only good in JWM due to the script and Shani chemistry is better than the chemistry of Shahid-Kareena in JWM.

😕 Shani?? sounds a bit weird.

I beg to differ. I can't imagine anyone playing Geet's character other than Kareena and personally, I'd rather go with Imtiaz's judgement (the calibre of director he is). Right from Socha Na Tha (Aditi) to Love Aaj Kal (Meera), he knows who suits the character well and doesnt compromise (arguably).

Rani is a great actress- in fact one of the best in Bolly but I for one, cant imagine her playing Geet.

As for JWM being good only because of the script---well, that shud be the FIRST criteria for every movie (Good SCRIPT).

Geet's character was very spontaneous, loud and vivacious, and Kareena did the part very well from her expressions to her dialogue delivery. I can't imagine anyone other than Kareena playing Geet, ditto same for Shahid as Aditya.

Imtiaz knows best. Saying that Shahid was perfect but Kareena was blah would be unfair. I agree that the script should be the first criteria for every movie, but then Shahid and Kareena invested a lot in the movie too.

Rani can't do JWM, Kareena can't do Saathiya, Rani can't do a Fashion and Priyanka can't do a Yuva. Lets, just leave it at that. Some actors are tailor-made for their roles, and Shahid-Kareena were perfect as Aditya and Geet respectively.

Agree with all. Some things are better left the way they were. Shahid and Kareena were the perfect foil to each other in the movie. Obviously, they both acted extremely well, but Imtiaz truly knew that Kareena was an ideal Geet, and along the way, he learned that Shahid was the ideal Aditya, too. I wouldn't have liked to see either of them replaced.

can't imagine even someone else with shahid in JWM , n she did n't overeacted ! she did her best in geets role ,which won her best actress award na ;)

I think Kareena was perfect as Geet, and the movie itself had perfect casting for ALL the characters. I won't want them replaced, though I lowe the Shaani pair.
