Rani can't do JWM, Kareena can't do Saathiya, Rani can't do a Fashion and Priyanka can't do a Yuva. Lets, just leave it at that. Some actors are tailor-made for their roles, and Shahid-Kareena were perfect as Aditya and Geet respectively.

That was a great post Riya, especially the parts in bold. Thank you for that. I have nothing else to add. Maybe except that Imtiaz is fantastic and he always makes the best decisions for his film. Oh Imtiaz 😍!.

And yes a good script is the first criteria for a good film. And the actors in JWM brought a lot to the film as well.

Only Kareena could do Geet's role. In another words the character of Geet was just made for Kareena

i do think that kareena did over act but thats ok. i think rani could have also done a good job if not better in that role considering her personality. but towards the end its the director's choice.

but i do hope shahid rani do work together in an imtiaz ali movie.

Rani is a a versatile actress. She can play all forms of characters equally well (heck, she had actually played a lot of different sort of character and proved herself). While I too think Kareena is the best choice for this role, I don't think Rani would have been bad either. Thing is Rani isn't doing much of a films, if she did, she would have become the Rani of Bollywood once again.

Nope.....that role seemed just tailor made for Kareena....I think she brought this innocent, fresh kind of spontaneity to Geet's zaniness that it's hard to imagine Rani bringing out even though Rani is a fab actress too....It's like Rani was perfect in the role of Bubbly....I can't picture Kareena doing that role....same way I think Kareena was fab as Geet....I can't picture Rani in the role.
