exactly Riya. they can be great off screen or in other departments but if they are not good at acting then people will criticize their acting.

let me give you an example. there is one man who I think is the best singer in the world. he also tried his hand in acting. he did 3 films, all of them flopped, and being an ardent fan I saw all of them. and even though he's my favourite celebrity, I won't be shy in saying that his acting sucks because it does!

now you can all guess who he is. 😆

about Himesh, well actually I was a big fan of his until recently when he just started acting really horrible and got on my nerves. (I think sanam can remember me talking about my Himmy days in MC a while ago😆)

Aww cute story. Ask the deepika gang, I used to criticize her for her acting so much, back then I loved her offscreen, but she hadnt impressed with her acting. Post LAK, I can say that she is a decent actor as well. There is a difference, earlier I used to love her off screen but thought that she sucked as an actor, but now after watching more of her, my opinion has changed.

By saying tat Imu is a humble guy.. I ment tat he never overhyped himself.. and neither did he hire any PR machinerey to overhype him.. So I dont get the fact as to why is he being called overhyped or overrated. And about the acting bit.. I say it again.. acting is a very subjective thing.. I am sure there are many people outside this forum who like Both Himesh's and Imu's acting.. Tat is why both their debut movies were successful.

You are right people's preferences are very subjective. I don't think Rahul Bose is a good actor. I think Hrithik has not really delivered in a lot of his films. I say all of this and some of their fans come here and discuss their opposing opinions. No one gets upset. That is what we are trying to do here. Lets have people give their honest opinions in a respectful manner.

The same goes for Imran. I am not a fan of his acting at all. Kidnap was just awful. But Imran is in this industry as an *actor*, so he will be judged accordingly. I am a Deepika fan because I see a lot of potential in her and I admire her attitude offscreen. But I will also admit that she still has a long way to go as an actor.

Yes Himesh and Imran had successful debut movies, but their second movies and now Imran's third were total flops. Why should their success or failure change people's opinion about their acting.

My point is that even if I don't agree with someone else's opinion we can still have a respectful discussion, without telling other people what they should and should not think about a particular person's acting ability.
