Sorry for being off-topic but where do you guys find all these regional movies with subtitles? I only stick to Hindi/English movies coz that's all I understand but I have heard so much about Sidharth and Madhavan that I want to check some of their movies out. Are the subtitled movies easily available or do you guys actually understand the language?

ok so I'll start with the Khans (some I like some I dont)

SRK-for me I share sort of a love-hate relationship with him..lol dont know why but one minute I love him for his loverboy roles and the Kjo ones (minus KANK) but then now a days he's overacting a lot and for me he gets annoying...

Saif-Saif really started to grow on me after DCH and KHNH...after than HT,Omkara and LAK are the ones that made me love the guy..I think he's hilarious and also a decent actor.

Salmaan-the only movies I like of his are the Rajshri ones and Andaaz Apna Apna...other than that I cant stand him.

Aamir-MY FAVE actor of all time..love this guy so much..I havent seen his earlier movies (only QSQT and HHRPK and AAA) but after that I love that he is versatile with his roles(esp Lagaan) and unlike some people here I LOVED Ghajini so much its not even funny...cant wait for 3 Idiots.

Arbaaz,Sohail,Fardeen,Zayed-all of these guys I cant stand and I dont even think they're that great of actors..Fardeen has some ok roles here and there but the rest dont care much about them.

Irfaan Khan-This guy I think is a better actor than all the Khan's combined (IMO) because he is so natural. I really respect and admire him for the roles and the type of cinema he does.

MY sweety pie jaanu forever Shahid-what can I say about him..I just love him to death😍.I've been crazy for him ever since Ishq Vishk and I even argued with my idiotic brother and some cousins when he was at his low point that he is a superstar and I'm so freaking proud of him that he is attaining that status after Vivah (which is my FAVE movie of all time...dont care what the hell anyone says.... my fave jodi is and always will be Shamrita and Vivaah rocks!!!!😛😍)

Hrithik-My second love of my life after Shahid😳😳 love my Duggu...I just am mesmerized by his gorgeous eyes and the way he moves....I loved him in KNPH and KMG,Krrish...I really liked him in Jodha Akbar and Laksh...I love most of his movies EXCEPT Yaadein and MPKDH but mainly becaue of the story and Kareena🤢

John-I think he's hot but quite decent at acting..liked him i Dhoom and New York

Neil-again I havent seen JG yet but I liked him in New York plus he's cute

Akshay Kumar-I love the guy for his personality but the comedy has to stop! after KI i was pulling my hair out...although I thought SIK was more tolerable than KI

Abhishek-I know a whole bunch of people hate him but I think he's adorable I love him because he's so funny in reel and real life and he's a good actor IMO..plus my dad is a mega ultra huge fan of the Bachans esp Amitabh so I guess the liking is gentic..lol😳

Amitabh-ok I know again Bachan haters are out there but I just love his acting and his voice a lot....and also the fact that even though he's 60+ he can act and dance well.👏

Ranbir-The less I say about him the better...because I used to be a big fan of him but THANKS to his idiotic stupid and bimbo fans on his site I really started to hate him😡😡😡 and he himself fueled the fire when he admitted to the truth in that GQ interview...and his acting is mediocre and NOW even I dont find him attractive🤢

Imran-I think Imran actually is strictly ok...there is room for improvement though...but he is a cutie pie😳

and now for the actors who I think are brilliant actors but are so underrated

well, yes... not all experiments would work though... that does not mean one should give it up... and i never liked the movie... i wonder WHY he said yes to that script... 😕 although, i loved Swades, even if some people found it boring... and he was great in the movie as well... those are the types of risks he can take... at least for his fans... 😊

since people were claiming that SRK is doing typecasted role and aamir was doing a huge variety of roles, that's why i raised the point... that aamir was doing just the same earlier and his acting too fell short on a number of occassions earlier... one has to look at the overall picture... same rules should apply to everyone... 😊

I like that you've added that aamir has got star value 😊. I was going to ask about why you thought aamir had less star value yesterday but had to go offline. For me, aamir has definitely got "star value" as his name is quite synonymous with quality work now. I think a big turning point for his later career was probably Lagaan. Also, now that he has his own production company and has forayed into directing he can do more of the type of films that he is passionate about.

I tend to see SRK more as a celebrity (I mean that in a good way!) and an actor, and that's probably because he is more media friendly than aamir. The thing with aamir is that he seems to get misinterpreted by the media like the Black issue he had with Amitabh Bachan which gave him some negative publicity.

I don't understand the language although I'm starting to learn it through watching the movies. I rely heavily on the subtitles. They are readily available (*coughtorrents&googlearebestfriendsalthoughmostofthemtoethelineofillegalitydependingonwhereyoulivecough*) or through Netflix (only supplies to people living in the US) which sadly doesn't have all of them but for the ones it does have - the english subtitles are good. Amazon has some of them, too.

Being in India it is very hard to get these movies with subtitles. I guess they assume only people who know the language would want to watch them. Ahem Try google vids/youtube/veoh video.

yes, i was talking about the 'past' tense... i did write the sentence in sort of past tense but realized that it could be interpreted wrongly when i went back and read it, hence corrected it... 😊 actually, he has more star power overall, if you consider he hardly has any flops since 2000 onwards... yes, i do think that's what the turning point for him was, with lagaan and dil chahta hai...

well, all these actors, in my opinion, are involved in both negative and positive publicity... and i don't think that's called 'misinterpreted'... if it was, then Amit ji and SRK would be the most misinterpreted celebrities ever... one would think that negative publicity would go against one but it actually does not... it's all about creating a hype...!

Rahul Bose: for his spontaneity (i'm one of his biggest fan...sad, he is not doing any hindi films for now)
Aamir: This guy is the most deserving khan regarding the talent goes!
Shahrukh: I am just hooked by his wit and intelligence rather than the acting talent
Salman: he is my first crush since when i'm young so the feelings never went away..
Saif: this guy can entertained me to any level...From his acting skills to his interview...I'm hooked to him!! Jai Ho Saif ji 😍
Akshay: his comic timing is superb these days!
Hrithik: I can't stand him after watching all those awful movies( MPKDH, NTJNAH,Krish (wtf))...But he was superb in Jodha ! ;)
Irfan khan: Superb!!!!
Ranbir: He is starting to grow on me...Loved him in bach na ae haseeno...

Rest: they don't interest me to that level to comment upon! 😉

I have tried googling before - I was looking for that Bomarillu (sorry if I butchered the name) movie that everyone raves about, but it's a little hard to know from google links if the movie has subtitles coz for me it's pretty useless w/o them . I will try again with a more filtered search.

If there are any good recommendations, could one of you be kind enough to throw me a PM? I don't want to hijack the thread 😆

K so now tat I have read the topic.. I can comment nicely.. K so .. Its getting debated tat Imu is overrated.. I personally dont think so.. I think he is very down to earth.. and his mamu is higly ethical in that regards.. he never overhyped his bhanja's movie when it was releasing.. I just love love the way Aamir does the publcity of his movies.. He iz awesome in tat regard.. And whenever I see Imu I see a reflection of Aamir in him..He is the most polite, well spoken and well mannered youngter in bolly. He was never overhyped.. He has come across as one of the most earnest younger.. and why only him.. I think all the youngesters.. Ranbir, Neil and others they are all very down to earth.. and forthright and very flexible and openminded..And about Himesh.. why is it shame to like him.. at least I am personally not shameful in liking Himesh.. I love him.. I think he is one of the most passionaite personalities in bolly. His success story is an inspiration for people.. who want to act but think tat they have unconventional looks.. or dont fall in the ideal hero type of an image.. Himesh bhai is definately not overhyped.. He has earned all the publcity by starring in Saregamapa..and by his chartbuster music.. I wish more actors like Himesh come to bolly.. who might not have conventional looks and image.. but offer something fresh to the audience.
