Fardeen Khan who was arrested way back in 2001 for the possession for cocaine is seeking a forensic report on the amount of coke present with him on the day of the arrest. If by any chance it amounts up to more than two grams then he will be facing a minimum of 10 years of imprisonment.
The Narcotics Council Bureau (NCB) had arrested Fardeen outside a Juhu ATM on May 5th 2001 for possessing cocaine. Nasir Shaikh who allegedly sold the drug and Tony Gomes who allegedly supplied it to Shaikh were also arrested. Fardeen had admitted that he had attempted to buy only one gram of cocaine but the NCB alleges that they found nine grams of cocaine on Khan.
The present situation is as such that a chemical analysis is to determine 'the actual percentage of cocaine' on Fardeen. If by any chance the quantity is less than two grams then Fardeen will face a mere six months in jail and if it is close to nine as alleged then he faces close to 10 years of jail time.
A StarBoxOffice source close to Fardeen revealed, "Fardeen has been clean for quite a while, he's putting on weight and that's one positive sign of quitting the drug. He was planning on starting a family so that could also be another reason." On his possession of the drug , the source added, "It's impossible that he would just have 1 gram on him, there must have been more."
The fate of that is due to be decided in court soon as Fardeen's lawyer Ayaz Khan has applauded the Supreme Court's decision to investigate the actual weight of the contraband found on the actor to incriminate him.
Fardeen has always claimed, he was making a purchase of only one gram, but the NCB claims to have more dope on him. StarBoxOffice wonders how these guys have managed to store the alleged nine grams for over eight years now. Must have turned into dust by now no? Will the evidence still smell of teen spirit in the adalat?
Fardeen has had a history, he's cleaned up, he needs a break, not a prison cell. What's your take on this?
