Nice interview, its good to read a proper interview instead of hearing media generated stories. He comes out as a balanced and normal person, don't expect anything less from Pankaj Kapur's son, I guess.

I'm ready to give anything to a relationship. As long as I'm not expected to change beyond what my basic nature is. Every relationship needs adjustment and understanding and you have to be ready to do that. But as long as you don't end up changing yourself as the basic person you were, because then you'll be unhappy. Apart form that, anything it takes! I'm always someone who's looking for longevity. I think you must never get into a relationship expecting it to culminate, only, you should know that there is a possibility of culmination

So why let kareena make all these drastic changes, that's my question. Maybe if he had made some changes on hsi part, her changes wouldnt have had to be so drastic. Perhaps they coudl have met somewhere in the middle. But its clear to me he has very strong ideals on how he is and he's not willing ot change, while its obvoius that she did. If he believes that, then why let her change? Adjustment is needed, but its needed from BOTH sides. Not just one.

Desu come on,It's not like Shahid put a gun to Kareena's head and ordered her to change.

Kareena is her own individual.And why are you making Kareena a victim in all this??.I am not aware of other changes but Kareena likes the fact that she is a Vegetarian now.Has she complained??Even Karisma said that Shahid and her brought out the better in each other on KWK.You think her sis was lying on national TV if Kareena was not happy?

Plus,Kareena is a old enough girl to know what is good for her and what's not and IF she did make all those changes against her wishes then it's her doing.

Just because he didnt take names he didnt react? Riya, it was clear as anything who he was hinting at. In my opinion, underhanded digs are just as bad as direct digs. Kareena said it outright coz she's not afraid. She merely said, I have moved on and he should as well. Shahid on the other hand said, its "cheap" to talk about personal life (no guesses who he was referring to) and then, "we all know who's interfering with who". I mean come on, it doestn take a Sherock homes to figure out who he is hinting at...especially since the question was about kareena.

So no, just because he didnt speciically mention names doesnt mean anything to me. He was pretty clear in his attack. And now he's going back and saying he didnt react at all. Not cool Shahid. Be man enough to stand by what you said atleast. And like everyone here said, no one pressureized saif and kareena to make those statements, and those two were torn down. Then the same principles apply to shahid. How can his own PR pressurize him? If saif and kareena were at fault, the pressurizing argument doesnt hold true for shahid either. How can he deny it now?

And he did love her. But I always got the feeling that she loved him more. Or she was more obsessed with him while he was just taking it slow. Its evident that she did put her career as second priority in front of shahid Riya. Look at the girl now. There's a fire and ambition in her that was absent when she was with shahid. Time to promote rockstars. Speak about your performance kareena, "oh i'm performing on so and so but SHAHID, his performance is osmething I'm blah blah blah" I remember everyone on kareean's forum was like..umm...talk about your own performance woman.

Interesintg that you bring up Karan Johar.

The same Karan Johar, when shahid was sitting in front was like, yeah he's a good influence. But when Shahid wasnt there, that same Karan Johar asked Kareena ont eh same show, so what has he changed for you?

I'm serious. YOu can go watch the episode again. She was talking about how she's changed as a person, and it was strange to see karan suddenly go, and what he he changed for you? Strange question, right? It definitley caught her offguard because it took her a second to put her thoughts together.

Seems like Karan noticed the same things that we are talking about right now. How much change should ONE person go through. If you are so differnet, and you are determined to make the relatoinship work, then you cant just say, "Oh, I will do anything to make a relatinshp work BUT...I dont wanna change". I mean that contradicts right there. Obviously if two ppl are so differnet you have two three options:

a) Both people make equal adjustments

b) ONE person make drastic changes to accomodate the other

c) Call it quits

It seems like it was case two with kareena making more than her share of changes and then finally the third option.

I dont wanna talk about the break up all over again. I just wanted to point out, he's going against his own statements 😊

And he seems a bit too rigid for my liking.

Just because he didnt show it that doesnt mean he didnt love her enough! Every human being is different! Some are expressive, some arent. Kareena is, Shahid isnt. Desu, Sasha became a chain smoker after the break up! You know how strict he is about not drinking and about not eating meat, but he took up SMOKING! He was like smoking numerous packs a day while shooting for Kismat Konnection! Thank God, he stopped cuz he realized it was affecting his health. Not to forget, he was totally missing from the scene for like months. No matter how bitter or amicable their break up was, I cant even imagine what he went through looking at flashing images of Saifeena's PDA on news channels and EVERYWHERE! She was her ex-love, she found someone else, he didnt. He had to go through everything, all by himself.

About making indirect digs, heck, I would make even worse indirect digs if someone sad all that crap about me. I agree that indirect digs are just as worse as direct ones, but just cuz he didnt take names, he can say that he hasnt talked shit. He is smart, and thats why he took the safer route. Again Desu, he didnt make the first move here, Saifeena were the ones who talked about him first.

I remember Karan asking that question, but it was quite impromptu, he asked her and then he asked him the same question. You overlooked the part where Sasha defended EVERY move of Kareena's. So Shahid which one of Bebo's movies do you like? "Oh, I like all her movies, she acted amazingly well in every movie..blah blah blah." Karan's like..umm I beg to differ, quit defending her. I'm not saying that Shahid loved her more or Kareena loved her more...we cannot make assumptions my just looking at the way they used to pose for pictures. Again some people express more and some dont express at all.....

About changing part, again you're making it sound like he had Kareena on gunspoint and asked her to change herself. Desu, she's a grown up woman! She can make decisions herself. About Shahid changing, he doesnt blab about changes, so we would never know. But he did try to socialize with people a bit more, now of course, he's doiing a better job with socializing.

And again, we know shahid started smoking, but kareena prolly had her share of pain as well. I always say, had saif not been there, she woudl have gone through hell. But the fact that he was there and supported her through this time, took her out for lunches, dinners, etc. She went into rebound, he didnt. She was weaker, he was stronger.

They both dealt with it in their own way. Just because his pain was publicized, dosetn mean kareena went through a breezy time. They broke up around JUne/July. She officially hooked up with Saif and cmae out with him in October. There was a period where kareena also went under. She didtn come out either, but no one could pinpoint and say that it was due tot he break up, coz no one knew about it. Only kareena knows what she went through in that 3 month time period. A break up is a bitter time for both involved.

As for making digs. I'm not saying why he said what he did. Its done with. What i'm saying is, why is he saying right now, that he DID NOT react. That's my issue, and I called him on it. So saif and kareena provoked him, he REACTED. Ok, dont go back on it now. Dont try to be all righteious with the whole, parents taught me never to react, I'm so difnified etc etc. YOu are human shahid. Its ok to admit it.

About the changing part, this is what I'm saying.

They were VERY differnet. In order for the relationship to work, SOME change had to occur. From what I can gather from this interview, Shahdi is reluctant to change his habits. He has this ideal that whatever he's doing is right. His way is healthy, proper, etc. etc. Whatever.

Change was necessary to make that relationship work. From what we all witnessed, Kareena made the changes. There's no denying it.

But here he clearly says, you will be an unhappy person if you make changes. Did he not realize that back when she was the one making all the changes? Could he not have changed some thigns about himself? Perhaps become a bit more outgoing for her sake? Went out to parties a bit more? She's clearly an extrovert. But what I saw was her adapting to his lifestyle. No one held a gun to her head, but clearly, she was forced to make changes in order for the relationship to function since there was not much effort from this side.

what are we discussing/arguing about? That Shahid isn't taking digs on Saifeena like they did in their interview? If Saif refused the role Kaaminey, why is saif taking digs at him? Didn't he admitted the role didn't excited him enough, so he refused the role? If Saif take digs on Shahid directly, that's fine? And even if kareena tells openly in media Shahid should move on and BLAMINg him for whatever is happening negative towards her is because of Shahid, that perfectly fine? What is she? Angel? This is Showbiz and she did moved on very quickly..so Negative Publicity on her doesn't surprise me at all. Saifeena rumors started before JWM release. But then i thought maybe it's the publicity for Tashaan. Results? NO!! Then i see the video of them kissing, I guess she moved on very Quickly. First you do things which media make you look bad and later you blame your ex? What kind of World are you living in.

RIya i agree with your posts. Shahid never forced her. wasn't it her who went crazy over shahid? Even he admit on KWK, she wanted to change herself for good or worse(reasons best known to her). Shahid also given time to the relationship. I really don't think Shahid was even giving important to his career before as he is now. I starting to love him from Vivah days. There were rumors kareena was spying on Shahid on the sets of vivah, should we beleive them or no? because media was just giving her a bad image YET AGAIN!? Before their break up, there were reports how Kareena was very possessive about Shahid and just didn't trusted him, what do call those reports then? I am so happy they're not together. Together they've always looked so boring! We shouldn't forget Saifeena started the digs! It's funny they took a dig right after Shahid Priyanka public appearance😆 I am so happy he doesn't smoke anymore, he was almost ruining himself for someone who was move on. Whatever brought him back, thank you from bringing him back. Today he's much more happy person than he even could be. He handled Saifeena digs very professionally. Shahid deserves to be happy, even when his ex isn't happy for him. If she was happy for him, she wouldn't directly say in her interview shahid to move on. Saif taking direct digs on Shahid was quiet lame 😆 Wrong move.

I'm sure they both suffered with pain, but Kareena had someone...he didnt. He wasnt stronger, but yes, he did emerge stronger, cuz he dealt with it all by himself. And frankly, even after two years, he still is all by himself. I'm not saying that he's still crying over Kareena, I'm just saying that he still doesnt have anyone.

His pain was publicized? Yeah suuuure. He was not even seen for months, what are you talking about? The media just assumed that Kareena cheated on him for Saif. Now you would say that, then why didnt he come up and clear up everything? Well he was going through hell at that point of time, he cant be brave infront of the media, he's just a human being after all. I'm not ignoring what Kareena went through in between those 3 months, but if I'm ready to accept that, then why not you? Why the bias, Desu?

Frankly, I'm not even sure if he made that one statement or no. According to this other article that I read, that statement was bogus and Shahid hasnt come out with anything..but then that article could be bogus itself. He said he did not react, actually he really didnt. He didnt ask anyone to move on or get a life, he didnt poing fingers at someone else's movie character..he just striked back in a dignified yet shut-yo-mouth way. He can clearly say that he hasnt reacted cuz all he said was all I dont believe in talking about my personal life and everyone knows who's interfering. For him, maybe Kareena is interfering, with Zayed and Shabina involved.

He wasnt healthy and proper, Desu. He made himself that way. He used to eat meat, but stopped cuz of this book he read...so there is no chance that he thinks he's perfect. He takes criticism well, even when him and Kareena didnt get along with John, he said "yeah, John is right, I did look a bit on the heavier side in Dil Maange More."

Again, just cuz he didnt publicize his change that doesnt meant he didnt change. I can guarantee that he wouldnt be attending award functions and events such as the inagug of Manish's store, if he it wasnt for Kareena. He did that for her. And she did stuff for him. It was mutual. Her changes were more drastic, agreed. He became a chain smoker, all that for her. Not saying that she asked him to, but he went against his strict ideals and changed himself for the worse.

Ufff can we stop talking about this damn break up? My head is pounding..its 3 am here

It's a very mature and a balanced interview. Of course, it comes across as boring since there is nothing colourful or spicy in it but it will save Shahid a lot of trouble. It is for his own good if he keeps his feelings and personal life to himself and only lets his work do the talking.

He and Priyanka can make a great relationship if they agree to fall in line together , carefully balancing their opposite natures.

As for Saifeena, I think it's like trying to make a crippled horse run. It's over...OVER. Saif and Kareena are singing ringa ringa roses in their love garden... and Shahid has taken a route to rediscover life and himself ...perhaps a completely new approach as it shows in this interview.

And no, Shahid is not a control freak.
