Swades was not a hit...it wasnt even critically acclaimed...it was a totaly rip off from lagaan in the sense that one man was trying to evoke change in a village...personally, i thought that ashutosh made a HUGE mistake making that film.

Aamir tasted success like this with his debut film QSQT....but always kept his head screwed on right. Shah Rukh, not so much. Plus Aamir has brought a sense of realism into film whereas all Shah Rukh is good for is dancing around trees like an idiot and acting like a teenager on-screen at the age of 43.

with his films been sent as our official entry to Oscars some 3-4 times and 1 actually nominated, the success of Ghajini can hardly be considered "huge" (by his standards)

Also Srk is the first actor/celebrity who came in (number 6 out of 50) most powerful people in india and Number 41 powerful people in the world.

Stop quoting me and listing movies. Did you not read my entire statement? I said first success of THIS magnitude. Amir's previous hits weren't as huge as this, minus maybe Raja Hindustani. SRK, on the other hand, has had DDLJ, KKHH, K3G and very recently OSO. As in, breaking records kind of magnitude. Not just hits.
