Why exactly Kidnap FLOPPED??

inspite of so hype and great acting by imran the movie couldnt survive the box office....why? what happened wrong... when the promos were on..eevrybody was determined tht the movie be a hit but the result was the reverse...so lets shaare over views to find the possibilities to find the reasons..

i would appreciate if we just give our opinions and do not attack each other's comments😳....and of course with no intention to hurt anyone😳

ok my reasons are...

1. gr88 script today to make a film sustain a proper script with a good screenplay is required...even if ur storyline is so loose...script shuld be tighter....which happened the reverse with kidnap..the story was good...but the script was so loose...tht it broke down with having so loopholes...(sanjay dutt events during first half)

2.good music today commercial cinema requires good music...of course a good story can hit the bo without music too...but the concept should match with the theme...but in kidnap instead of baseless songs...the requirement was much higher...good music could have proved beneficial to the film.

3. Minisha's Tough Attitude every one had predicted from the promos that although imran is negative he is not harsh to the lady whom he kidnapped which is why she might feel hersself closer to him somehow....but exactly opposite hAppens...minisha is so tough tht it spoils her whole persona....she doesnt even feel softer even in the second half after knowing the reality..which if she could have..understood the guy tht he is not bad at heart. things would have been different....ppl indian audiences still want to see romantic angles...which was hugely required but the writer shibani messed off her own story like penning a stupid character sonia

Well for me...it didnt grip me...I mean there was hardly any suspense...

And I really wanted Minnisha to fall in love with Imran :(

I liked it and I'm not sure I understand all the negative reviews. It's no better or worse than some other movies (i.e Dhoom) that have come out and been big hits. The only thing I think was a bit weak was perhaps the music, could have been stronger. But having said that, was there REALLY a need for songs in Kidnap?

As for the Sonia character being too strong, I beg to differ. I'm not into the simpering, pathetic damsel in distress philosophy and don't find it attractive in anyone. Nobody likes a weak character. Perhaps a little romance might have soften her a bit but again, was there REALLY any place for that in this movie? It would have just been yet another cliche Bollywood story and the Kabir character would have suffered for it. It was enough that there was an underlying attraction that was never acted upon.

To sum up, I'm not sure why it hasn't done better. I think the deluge of negativity really affected opinions and people stayed away because they'd *heard* it was bad, not because they saw it and thought so themselves. Shame. It's a better movie than some of this years so-called "hits". <cough SIK I'm looking at you! cough>

i think it should recover cost if not this week then the next..lets hope for the best...if the budget is not more than 25 crore...having collected 15 crore in 4 days it may avoid loss

but why r u underlying the weak points....like the sanjay dutt events...when he goes to his rival or chase imran himself (at this age seems impossible)😕 again going through the jail it looked so fake...

yes if romance didnt have the place to have in...then attraction doesnt too...it wasnt required also...

and if u r saying the weak character is not good....why priyanka's character havent been appreciated...she is much stronger than minisha...

anyways if kidnap would been such a gr88 movie it would have worked...ppl r not fool today and u cant make them...

anyways i still feel imran was the best part---whole is utter crap
