Ghajini: This far, no further

Aamir Khan and Southern siren Asin's film Ghajini will be released this Christmas with no further delays.

"The shooting of the film is almost done and only patchwork remains," a source said, "the major portions with Aamir Khan and Asin have being shot."

Both stars are busy with other assignments at the moment, the source added, and what remained of the film would take only a couple of days. "Aamir is a perfectionist," the source said, "and insists on things turning out exactly as he wants them."

Aamir is currently in North India shooting for 3 Idiots with Kareena Kapoor.

After his big hits Taare Zameen Par and his home production Jaane Tu, Ghajini is his next big film and eagerly awaited in a year that has turned out to be better than Bollywood expected.

"Yes, the film was postponed twice earlier - it was supposed to release in October then in November - and now finally it's releasing on December 26th. Now the date is final and there will be no further
delays."

The source denied that the film's date was put out because of an announcement from Yash Raj that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi would be released on December 12. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and is being directed by Aditya Chopra himself - sure to get lots of publicity and a hard competitor for any movie releasing on the same date.

There had been speculation that Aamir was not satisfied entirely with some scenes in Ghajini, which is being directed by AR Murgadoss and so he insisted on the reshoot.
