Drona, Kidnap flop

Goldie Behl's Drona, which opened to tepid response last Thursday, dropped further and will be a major loser. Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap got a decent opening but could not sustain its position at the box office. Javed Jabbar and Mehreen Jabbar's Pakistani venture, Ramchand Pakistani has gone unnoticed despite rave reviews, and has been discontinued at some centres. Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives the box office verdict.

Note: Films are ranked according to their release dates. The thumbs ups and downs reflect rediff's views.

Can't really say it's much of a surprise. The characterization of the main character in Drona was poor. One is meant to sympathize with him but he's no Harry Potter. Lots of focus on the destiny, little focus on the actual characterization. Kidnap showed a lot of promise in the first ten minutes - after that, a half-baked attempt at ... something. Was it supposed to be a thriller?
What I am surprised with is how poorly The Last Lear fared. It is a much better movie than all the movies on the list.

well Kidnap was a average flop , it had low budget so made most of its money
but Drona had a huge budget , 65 crores..and barely made 25 crores out of it...so BIG BIG FLOP, if it make any difference to kidnap😆
