Shahid and Kareena in traditional Kullu dresses

For those who do not know, the unit of the Imtiaz Ali directed Shahid-Kareena film, titled TRAIN, has been in the picturesque hill station of Kullu-Manali from April end. The major stars, including the lead pair are putting up at the famous Span Resorts.

Now we bring you an almost 'live' scoop about TRAIN, straight from the shooting venue. As you are reading this, Imtiaz is picturising a song sequence on Shahid and Kareena (dressed up in traditional Kullu dresses), in the Naggar Panchayat, Dharohan village to be exact.

As per the film's local coordinator Anil Kastha, the Historic Naggar fort (overlooking the Beas river), now being run by HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation) as a resort, has been fully booked for the Naggar shooting schedule.

A thing about the song being picturised. It is supposed to be at the ancient 'Shaari' fair of Naggar (which will actually commence from May 1 and an exact ambience of the fair has been created. The song being canned will come at a very important juncture in the film.

The TRAIN will halt in Kullu-Manali till the end of this month and then leave for the Himachal Pradesh capital, Shimla.

OK SEE THIS!!Kareena Kapoor was so impressed by her boyfriend Shahid Kapoor's performance in Fool And Final, that she gifted Ahmed Khan, the director of the film with a brand new Breitling wrist watch, worth Rs 2.5 lakh. The director had organised a special trial show for Bebo and Shahid before they left for Manali to shoot for Imtiaz Ali's next film.

Ahmed says, "Kareena wanted to watch the film before they leave because they will be busy shooting for a couple of projects, when the film will hit the theatres. So I asked my producer Firoz Nadiadwala to organise a private screening of the film for the two of them."

But the choreographer turned director could never imagine that he would receive such a costly gift from Kareena. He says, "It was a pleasant surprise for me. I am extremely fond of branded watches and I already had the same model which Kareena has gifted me. But I appreciate the gesture that she bought me something which I like. Probably Shahid had told Kareena that I collect watches."

Ahmed and Shahid are close friends and share a fantastic rapport. Incidentally, Shahid didn't like the costumes used in the film and they used to fight regularly on the sets. "We always fight," says Ahmed. "Shahid didn't want to wear baggy trousers and insisted on wearing body hugging jeans. But finally, he listened to what I said," he says. But did his 'dictator image' irritate Shahid? "I am not a dictator. We used to fight like friends. He is looking fabulous in the film," says the director.

The upcoming episode of 'Koffee with Karan', features the Kapoors, to be more precise Kareena and Karisma's father Randhir Kapoor and 'star-in-the-waiting' Ranbir Kapoor's parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. And not to forget Rajiv Kapoor.

As is well known, most of the Kapoors have a wacky nickname associated with them. Elaborating on the reasons, Randhir Kapoor disclosed that Rishi Kapoor is 'Chintu' because he was very tiny at birth time. He did not even spare himself as he told Karan, "I was very fair and so I was named 'Dabbu' after the white pet poodle of the house!" Randhir Kapoor's wit came to the fore again when Karan asked him to suggest a nickname for daughter Kareena's ('Bebo') boyfriend Shahid Kapoor and without batting an eyelid, Randhir suggested 'Dodo'!

We hope that Kareena and Shahid, who are presently in Kullu-Manali, shooting for Imtiaz Ali's movie, will also tune in to the interesting episode.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena to marry only after 5 years

They might be the cutest couple but Shahid-Kareena couple is no less determined about their chemistry than the hot John-Bipasha. They are also determined to keep their career at the upfront at least for five years.

Kareena says, "We're not getting married for the next five years, at least. I want Shahid to concentrate on his career. His time will come and he will rock. He has age on his side and is a great performer. Shahid has a great line-up of films. I want to give him time and space for his work." So let's see if the couple will be able to translate their off-screen chemistry onscreen.

Some star or the other invariably ends up in a foot-in-the-mouth situation after every episode of 'Koffee With Karan'. Last time it was Bipasha Basu's turn.

Eyebrows have been going up ever since she commented that Kareena Kapoor had 'too many expressions' on her face when she performed on screen. This, the industry folks have presumed, was in retaliation to Kareena's comment some weeks ago that John was 'expressionless'.

But Bipasha is horrified by the tit-for-tat suggestion and told IANS: 'I'm not that kind of a person. I certainly don't believe in tit for tat. And my episode of 'Koffee With Karan' was recorded in the first week of December when I had no clue what Kareena had to say about John.

'In any case, everyone is entitled to her opinion. If Kareena thinks John is expressionless then so be it. He's a grown up man. He can fight his own battles. I certainly won't jump in the fray for anyone else, not even my boyfriend. I don't wish to start a war of words with Kareena or anyone else.'

The seeming retaliation has reactivated the whole Kareena-Bipasha war that goes back to the days of Abbas-Mustan's 'Ajnabee' when, during a stint in Switzerland, the two actresses had exchanged harsh words over Kareena's costume designer lending his talents to the Bengali beauty without her consent.

As for Bipasha's opinion on Kareena, 'I was asked what I felt about her acting. And I gave my opinion. I also made comments on Tanushree Dutta and Sunny Deol. And they weren't meant to be offensive.'

Bipasha has just returned from a long stint in Dubai for Abbas-Mustan's 'Race' to do a shampoo ad in Mumbai.

'It's strange. But on the show I was asked who's my favourite and I said Saif Ali Khan. When I said it, I hadn't even worked with him. If comments on the show are strategised in a particular way the interviewee can't help it.'

Kareena and Shahid carry their romance to the Shivalik hills

10 May 2007 (Sawf News) - Kareena Kapoor is currently in Manali with beau Shahid Kapoor shooting for Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Shooting for the film is expected to end on May 30.

According to HT the couple have been driving around in the twin cities of Kulu and Manali and taking long walks after sunset. Romancing, would describe it.

Though Kareena has consistently maintained marriage is not on her or Shahid's mind as both of them want to concentrate on their respective careers, we are hoping the salubrious environs of the hill station nestled at an altitude of 1,829 m in the Shivalik hills would change the couple's mind.

To tell you the truth, we don't believe the two of them have such exciting careers at this point of time. Okay, that was a tad unwarranted.

Shahid does have Firoz Nadiadwala's Fool N Final lined up for release. Directed by choreographer turned director Ahmed Khan, the action comedy features Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty.

In fact, shortly before Kareena flew to Manali, Khan arranged a special screening of the Fool N Final for her, because he knew she would not get a chance to see the film when it was officially released because of her projects.

After seeing the film, Kareena was so excited by the way Khan had directed beau Shahid she gifted him a Rs 2.5 lakh Breitling wrist watch!

That wasn't very bright. Khan already had the watch!

Director Imtiaz Ali got a lot of critical acclaim for his Abhay Deol starrer, SOCHA NA THA, though it could not succeed commercially. It now seems that lady luck is finally smiling on this very talented and young director.
