Love for maaaaa...Bollywood style!
Amitabh Bachchan, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and King Khan have publicly expressed their love for their mothers and given them pride of place in their lives. In this respect at least, Bollywood actors
behave exactly like how they would on screen!
Amitabh Bachchan says the Abhi-Ash wedding was 'low-key' because of the precarious health of his mother Teji Bachchan. Teji is in the super deluxe ward of a Mumbai hospital and is critically ill. This is not however the first time that Big B has publicly expressed his love for his mother. In a recent interview to college students, he said, "I always dreamt that when I earned big money, I would give all the luxuries to my parents. But when I asked them what their desire was, they only wanted to see me smiling in front of them every morning."
Following in his father's footsteps, Abhishek has publicly displayed his respect and love for Big B and Jaya by being an obedient 'friend' for both. The way he jumped down the stage in joy at an awards function to escort Jaya when she won the award for Best Supporting Actor was admired by millions of viewers.
On his recent KBC appearance, Shah Rukh Khan announced to the whole world that "mothers are special people. They must be honoured and loved without exception for the unconditional love they give us. I miss my parents even today and feel that were my mother alive, I would have kept my success at her feet and hugged her." His love for his mother is evident to all his fans.
"My mother has sacrificed her life for us. She has gone through hell to raise us and to build our careers," say Karisma and Kareena Kapoor. Rumours in Bollywood say that Karisma agreed to break her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan due to Babita's displeasure with the Bachchans.
Salman Khan, with all the negative publicity he has attracted, has still stood by his parents. When he was targeted for being drunk while mowing down some people sleeping on a footpath, he was more concerned about mother Salma, who was hospitalized because of shock at the event.
Hrithik Roshan has always insisted that he owes his success to his father Rakesh and mother Pinky and his gratitude is there for everyone to see, as he lives with his parents along with his wife Suzzanne and son Hrehaan. So is the public expression of love by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his mother. He never ever fails to mention her contribution and always gets her along when he receives an award. She even walked with him on the Cannes red carpet. Madhuri Dixit is a rare example of an arranged marriage.
Real or reel, Bollywood actors seem to always score in the 'Maaa...mein aa raha hoon' department
