| Kya ho gaya Bigg Boss ko? Instead of music, today he played a harsh alarm bell to wake up the housemates. But that was not the reason why the girls were angry. They were angry at Ravi, who had played a prank on them the previous night. They refused to talk to him in the morning. So what did Ravi do to butter them up? He made chai for all of them. "Dekhte hain ab kaise baatein naheen karti," he said. Wah Ravi... ladkon ke liye to kabhi chai naheen banai aapne! Kya kheer banaya Rakhi ne It was 12 a.m. and Aryan, Anupama and Rakhi were working in the kitchen. Anupama was making aalu-gobi and, as usual, Aryan was helping her out. Rakhi, dressed in a red t-shirt, was busy wielding a spatula making kheer for everybody. Everything was going well until kabab-mein-haddi Roopali came in and told Anupama that there was hardly any sugar left in the jar. Arrree, yeh kya Roopali, kheer to Rakhi bana rahi hain na! Kya confusion hain yeh? Rakhi got angry and told Anupama that Roopali had started her game again! Rakhi fuels another fight Next, Rakhi took Anupama into the bedroom and opened her complains ka pitara. "She [Roopali] was pointing towards you, to be thrown out of the house during nominations," she said. "Who is she to tell me whom I should nominate?" It was obvious that Anupama was upset... and she said as much They also bitched about Carol, saying that she behaved like a 40-year-old in the girls' room and a 5-year-old in the boys' room. A colourful task At 5:30 p.m., Carol was called into the confession room to be told about the next task. Bigg Boss insisted that she should read out the memo in Hindi. Carol sounded very cute as she began. According to the task, the housemates had to make furniture for schoolchildren and paint them in attractive colours. They should also sign their handiwork. Soon all of them were painting the small tables yellow, blue and red. Now that their true colours have been revealed to the public, chalo yeh bhi dekh lete hain! The blame-game on full in swing Time for yet another exciting game. This one is called Mulzim and Aaropi. According to the rules, there will be one mulzim and one vakil. The third person will be the aaropi, who will complain against the mulzim. Amit was appointed as the judge of the show. The first pair was Anupama and Ravi. Roopali was the aaropi. Roopali questioned why Anupama always covered her face with packs and the nightcap and ignore Aryan, who roamed around the house in a towel. Anupama answered smartly that she follows the adage "Bura mat dekho." Amit decided that Anupama was not guilty. Aryan and Carol were next. Rakhi complained that Carol often ignored her and did not offer her anything that she cooked. Carol defended herself by saying that Rakhi always refused what she offered. Judge Amit gave her the benefit of the doubt. Next Roopali and Deepak were questioned by Anupama. Why did Roopali always give foot massages to the guys and not the girls? Roopali took the question sportingly and said that many a times she did give massages to the girls as well. But the judge was not convinced and her punishment was decided. She had to give foot massages to all the girls now. Arre Roopali, ghar mein rehne ke liye aur kis kis ke pair dabaogi? Anupama or the new Phoolan Devi? Anupama was harbouring a lot of anger towards Roopali. It came out into the open during the game. In the end, she burst out saying: Why would someone bother if I put on a face pack or cover my eyes? Before Roopali could answer, Anupama called all the guys into the bedroom. She told them how Roopali was playing games with her and making faces all the time. "Roopali wants me thrown out." The guys consoled her: "We're fully aware who is doing what, you relax." Meanwhile, Roopali was crying profusely in the other room, while Carol comforted her. The only person who was quiet was Rakhi—the one who had instigated the quarrel. Wah kya kheer pakaya hain Rakhi ne! |
| Rakhi was all dressed up and looking pretty in a yellow sequined top when Bigg Boss called her into the confession room. But Bigg Boss had an ulterior motive: he wanted to keep her away from the rest of the crowd so that they could prepare a surprise birthday party for her. While Bigg Boss talked to her inside, preparations were on in full swing outside. It was a fancy dress party. Rahul Roy dressed up as a coolie, while Amit was a short and Superman. Carol was the jungle queen. Aryan looked like a typical pirate, while Anupama was checking out his heart with a fake stethoscope—she was playing a sexy nurse. A huge black forest cake was placed on the table. As soon as Rakhi came out of the confession room, the guys picked her up and gave her birthday bumps. Later, she came back dressed as a white fairy. The gang danced through the night—making it a birthday to remember for Rakhi. "We don't want to nominate anyone" Despite all the misunderstandings and quarrels, the housemates have become quite close now. Especially after the party. For the first time in the house, everybody wanted to evade the nominations. But then rules are rules and they had no choice. Carol nominated Rakhi and Anupama. Rakhi's constant attention seeking irritates her and Anupama she ranks the lowest if she has to rate people in terms of liking. Well, that is news to us Carol... considering the fact that you've been quite close to her. Amit chose Aryan because he is not living like a family and is always pretending to be true hearted. He nominated Rakhi because she is not genuine and is always acting. Roopali said Anupama is very sweet and she is nominating her because no one else will vote against her. Same funda she gave for Ragini, too, and called her the sweetest. Bahut chalak hain yeh ladki, zubaan pe mithas aur haath mein churi? Anupama nominated Ravi as he seems to be very restless and wants to go back to his family. She nominated Carol again because she snores a lot and disturbs her sleep. Ravi selected Ragini, who he claims seems to have become very lonely. His second name was Aryan, who he feels has stayed enough to earn the money he needed. Ragini picked Rakhi and said she did not trust her. Ravi was next in her list as she feels he wants to go home. Rahul Roy voted against Rakhi because she still tries to influence people and is quite unpredictable. According to him, she spoils everybody's mood in the house. He chose Roopali as he feels that she wants to go home. Rakhi nominated Carol because she avoids her and maybe doesn't like her. She also nominated Ravi because she is scared of him... he asks her not to dance and also complains that Rakhi is acting all the time. Deepak nominated Ragini because she is not a celebrity and by staying in the house she'll reduce the chance of a celebrity winning the game. Rakhi, he said, acts all the time. Why did she create such a fuss with Amit when she has a boyfriend back home? Aryan picked the name of Carol as he feels no one will nominate her this time. Deepak, he said, is very neutral and will not get many votes. Trouble in paradise? Anupama was upset with Aryan. She felt that he was playing games with her and asking her not to talk to certain people. "You're trying to isolate me from the rest," complained Anupama. Soon the small argument transformed into a big fight. "You don't have basic respect," shouted Anupama. While Aryan, like a typical Majnu, tried not to show his anger. He called her to the gym area and tried to talk. But Anupama was in no mood to listen. He asserted, "You're questioning my character." But soon the lover boy was at her knees saying sorry. Both stopped talking to each other—for a while, of course. Kissa kursi aur table ka It was time for the weekly task again. And this time it is called 'Kissa kursi aur table ka'. Everybody was quite enthusiastic about the new task. According to the rules they have to make tables and chairs for school children. The furniture would bear their signature and will be given to different schools. The gang looked quite engrossed as they got the wooden planks and started working on it. The only person who stayed out was Aryan. He was not well. Anupama tried to call him, but he wanted to rest for a while. How the girls fell for the prank It was night. The girls were all set to dive into their beds when they heard screams from the boy's room. They ran to their room to find Ravi lying unconscious on his bed. Roopali got so panicky that she screamed looking at the camera: "Please call the doctor." Rakhi and Anupama were scared and speechless. Next, Ravi started laughing aloud. The gang burst out laughing and teasing the poor girls. Roopali looked quite upset and amused at the same time. Kya yaar, you guys think girls are fools? Wait till they get back to you. |

I am going to interview Bobby Darling, I tell a close friend.
The resultant gasp makes it clear that the mention of Bobby Darling still triggers off intense reactions from many. A 29-year-old banking professional is empathetic. "At least Bobby Darling had the guts to speak up," she says. A Pune-based IT professional expressed fascination and intrigue, "Wow! Give me the low-down after you chat him up."
The 'him' in that sentence makes me smile. Bobby Darling uses the feminine gender when speaking, especially noticeable when she speaks in Hindi. Though Bobby was born male -- aka Pankaj Sharma -- and is biologically still that, she considers herself a woman 'trapped in a man's body.' Her dream right now is a sex-change operation.
What's so special about being a woman, I want to know. Her answers in general are peppered with bitterness, "Men are like dogs. Lekin ek aurat admi ko bana sakti kai, barbad bhi kar sakti hai (but a woman can make or break a man)," says Bobby, claiming she first felt the desire to be a woman in Class VII.
This discovery did not go down well with the family and Bobby is currently estranged from them and lives alone in Mumbai.
A recent experience on the reality television show Bigg Boss seems to have left her deeply scarred. She had to cohabitate with 13 celebrities in a bungalow. After one week, she was voted off the show by the others. According to her, many people featured on the reality show were two-faced.
Earlier Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishen, a participant, told Bobby his kids were great fans of her and praised her for having made a name for herself in a span of six years. But in the confession room, Kishen cited that Bobby was only here for the fame and voted her out.
"I think the channel was looking for bitchy people and negative things on the show. When I signed for the show they gave me big names like Ashmit Patel, Yana Gupta, Aftab Shivdasani and Poonam Dhillon. But when I entered, I saw a bunch of losers," she adds, but is all praise for item girl Rakhi Sawant. "To make her mark in the industry she has created a kind of aura and image. But she is actually a simple, nice, homely girl. She knows how to cook food. And in fact she washed my clothes all those days, " Bobby recalls.
According to Darling, another reason cited by others for her removal from the show was that she was gay. But Bobby vehemently clarifies that she is not gay. "I want to live my life completely like a woman and on my own terms and conditions," she says. Post-surgery, she wants to settle down with a straight man.
"Do you think this is possible in India?" I ask. "No, it's very difficult. I think I will only find someone abroad. Mereko lagta hai ki jab bhagwan ne mujhe banaya, mere liye bhi koi banaya hoga (if God made me, He must have made someone for me)," she adds. "I am looking for someone between the age of 35 and 55 years. I don't like young boys, because they only want to have fun. He should be nice, caring and loving. It's been a long time since I have fallen in love."
Not surprisingly, Bobby's dream role in Bollywood is that of a woman. "It must have substance, and could be a negative role too. Of course, my comedy roles are what got me recognition. I am very grateful to Ekta Kapoor for giving me my role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. But I have to do something different now and take a bold step," she says, saying she has a huge fan following of women and kids.
The sex-change operation will cost approximately Rs 25 lakhs, if done in the US. "They do it in India too, but the results are not that positive. I have met some people who have had it done here and they are not happy after the surgery, " she says. The second option America is Bangkok. She is currently trying to raise funds for the surgery by doing roles in Bollywood and television, and welcomes any sponsors. "I pray for an angel who will help me," she says.
Sometimes loneliness strikes. "But I have a few good friends; I go for movies," says Bobby. "I was very religious and do puja everyday. However, little by little I am losing faith especially after Bigg Boss. But I still do puja for half an hour everyday," she says.
No doubt Bobby's sexual orientation is impossible for many to comprehend. For them, all she has to say is live and let live.
