May i ask what gives you the right to yell all sorts of accusations and personal insults...when all this while i have asked you very politely...a pertinent question..."How does one support two opposing ideologies sincerely"???

Anybody who lives in India is free as per our constitution to follow any number of ideologies...if you resent that, go to Pakistan.

Every religion teaches us how we should live, what should be the purpose of our life, how we can attain enlightenment and be one with the Almighty.

Performing puja, namaz, and others are only rituals.

One can attain enlightenment or be feel united with God only by doing meditation regularly.

The rituals have been established to please the Gods. So if one celebrates the rituals of different religions, then what's harm in taht?

I know that few things are prohibited in Islam. Actually, many things are prohibited as per Hindu rituals too, but we have been able to overcome those rituals cause many Saints came and taught us that enlightenment cannot be attained by rituals only. It is more about your devotion and your humanity.

See in Islam our Almighty God says very clearly in the holy Quran...i will forgive any sin even the size of the mountains...but NOT associating any partners with Allah (God) ... then how the hell can anyone perform puja and idol worship ??!??

Had they been sent to forcefully bring the people into their teachings? Were Moses, Jesus and Muhammad ordered by the Almighty to impose their teachings upon the people by sword? Absolutely not!

@ exactly my point. So what Salman celebrates Hindu rituals? Does he become a bad muslim?

I know he is doing a thing which is prohibited in Islamic scriptures, but it doesn't mean he is demeaning it because he is just not following the rituals as per scriptures.

As I said, rituals are only some ways to please god. You can follow them or not follow them. But it doesn't mean you become a bad hindu or bad muslim.

The thread starter is right in the sense that what he did is not allowed in Islam but he is also wrong because he is assuming that Salman Khan is a Muslim when he has openly declared that he is a half hindu and half muslim. Since there is no such thing, it is safe to assume he is not a muslim in practice. Just being born in a family and having a certain name (which is not a muslim name either actually, salman is persian and khan is turkic/mongol in origin) doesn't make one muslim or make it an obligation on him/her to follow islam. At the end of the day, it comes down to the individual.

Why are you surprised? Salman is an antagonist, unlike Saleem Khan, who's a complete atheist. Why would it bother you? That's between him and his creator, right?

Why would you 'lose respect' for someone based on their beliefs, or lack of, rather.

I think it is all a matter of faith...Many Muslims today worship Ganpati dueing Ganpati visarjan...
Also, Salman's mom, sister-in-laws etc are all Hindu, so they practice both the religions in their home...similar is the case for SRK... I don't find anything wrong in that...There are many Hindus who visit dargah and masjid and some also keep Rozas...So i don't think its a big issue...

"To each its own"...Gauher was not involved in Durga pooja, at that time she was criticized for standing away...Now Salman has stood up for worshipping, now people are criticising for that... Everybody has their own beliefs and they do accordingly...

As per my understanding of Islam, it does not permit short clothes etc...bt a lot of Muslims still wear that... We should broaden our thinking and respect other's beliefs... Be it any religion, there is only one God foe all...which you can seek in your heart or in a stone...bt it won't change the the existence of God 😊
