As I see it - As much as Shilpa likes to show that she is a tough woman...her biggest weakness is her husband. I think her reaction was not so much about his hair but more about the act of forcefully shaving his hair. In many cultures 'shaving head' equates to shaming that person. Mohawks and other hairstyles are pretty common and many folks willingly get it done. But here Apoorva really did not have much of a choice - if he said No - he would come out looking bad. He had to say yes and bear with it for the sake of the team.
She probably would not have reacted as such it it were just a normal haircut with no shaving involved.
In my community , men shave their heads only when they lose a parent or they donate to God. It is considered disrespectful to ones living parents, to do so just for style.
