What logic is this?

If you were challenged to a duel, and had to pick 2 people to assist you, and one of those people starts refusing to assist, citing various reasons, would you:
- Select another assistant
- Still go with your first choice, who has already shown signs of disinterest.

Option # 1 or option # 2.

I'm not taking any names. This is a random duel situation. LOL.

By what you're saying, hasn't the assistant who you've initially chose also shown you signs of betrayal by showing disinterest in helping you succeed? In that case, you cannot count him as loyal either.

I have another questions for you:
If you are among a group of 12 people (including yourself), out of which only 3 people are your friend. You also know that rest of the people don't like you what-so-ever. Now a task comes which has prize money involved, and you have a desire to win that money like others. You are asked to pick 2 people to support you, who would you chose?

1. Would you chose 2 people out of 3 friends of yours?
2. Would you chose someone from rest of the group who clearly want you to lose?

Gautam only had options of Puneet, Preetam and Praneet. Praneet already backed out stating the leg issue. He was left with 2 people. Puneet said he doesn't want to play because he won't use physical strength, but what Gautam was trying to make him understand was you don't necessarily need to use your 'bal'..one can tickle, or do other sorts of things to annoy the person. Also, if it wasn't Puneet then who else could he chose? Can you suggest one name who would have genuinely supported him? If I was in Gautam's place, I would have done the same..I would have tried explaining my friend to play for me instead of asking my opposition to come and support me when I clearly know its never going to happen.

I hope you now understand the logic behind Gautam chosing Puneet.

I see what you're saying. But, in my question, I would have gone with option #1, as the person I have picked has already shown signs of defaulting me, so why not try someone else.

I understand your point too, but the way I see it he was not left with much option. Arya, Ali & Sushant were clearly not going to support him and even none of the girls would have supported him. So he forced Puneet to play and told him to use mental power instead of physical power. In short, his decision wasn't illogical given the circumstances :)

In short, the person has no allies. That is what you are saying. All enemies. He cannot rely on anyone. Even the option he has chosen is one of betrayal. Correct?

Absolutely correct! He doesn't have any supporter in the house. But what is your point?
