Atleast Balaji isn't faking it infront of kids like he loves them... Some people just can't get along with kids well and I too is like that so I understand of thats the case with him...

My interpretation here is different. He was cautious as he was blamed by Nithya that he dint meet Poshika for long. A father who has been aloof from his child for so long would look fake if he showered all affection on these kids. As such i always feel he is faking himself.
