I wouldn’t combine both the behaviours in that sense - so I’d disagree with Gauhar here. Shukla is independently wrong and condemnable for manhandling the girl and threatening her thus. This is irrespective of what she did before or after said behaviour IMO. I do not subscribe to the very popular theory that all of Shukla’s ghatiyapan is attributable to other people and or ancillary factors. It’s attributable to him and him alone.

I consider Shehnaaz’s behaviour separate from the above. Her behaviour was shit yesterday and today. She too was violent - in a different way and to a different degree. And I believe she completely lacks in self-respect and cannot seem to find an ounce of dignity. None of that, however - has any bearing on Shukla’s behaviour with her yesterday - it’s despicable, and will remain so regardless of how “ok” she is with it IMO.
