Well, its tough to make up our minds based on promo.

I think the big biaseness test will be tonight and the next 2 weeks. BB is obviously bending their violence/abusing rules for Shukla and he has been given privileges beyond anybody in the show's history - even Shukla fans with half a brain know this. The real test will now be: is he being used as a ratings cow? Or are they seriously going to do everything they can to make him the winner?

If its the second, then honestly, yes it will be a blot on Salman's record. Not a huge one obv, since his career is so big beyond this one trashy reality show. But BB is a huge massy show, has incredible reach (beyond even his movies in terms of eyeballs), and his career is at this point based on potboiler brainless movies that already has been tipping downwards in the second half of last decade. Personally, if I was Salman, I would take my hosting job more seriously and think about how I'm coming across.

The aura of 'bhai' Salman is in line with the man who brutally embarrassed Zubair Khan and stood up for 'justice' in Bigg Boss. Even if its a tiny dent, him openly not caring about the clear bias and cashing in his checks will leave some audience members with a thought that he may not be the 'bhai' they thought he was. Rural, B/C centre massy audiences are VERY impressionable, and are the type to worship their heroes as if they are the characters they play on screen. So, its a tricky thing to get involved in if it picks up alot of steam.

Based on how his most recent film (a 'safe' sureshot third installment on a VERY successful franchise) did, I wouldn't f**k with the audience more than needed if I were him frankly.

Salman should really look at how this show is affecting his credibility with the general masses.

Is might not be huge but it would definitely be a starting point. He's old now. Not the hero age.

So he has like 7-10 years in which he can do hero roles and then he will be senior citizen.

I get he's doing his job in the show but many people have started disliking Salman coz of it.

This might decrease his shelf life in the long run coz it will affect his public image.

Exactly!

People immediately think that this is a small show that people will forget about, but its actually about the snow-ball effect of someone's career. Salman's films have been on a downward slope, and the audience has been outright rejecting traditional massy potboiler movies for a few years now. His movies may be making 200/300 crores, but they are also costing VERY RISKY budgets of 100/200 crores to make - meanwhile Ayushmann, Vicky, even Ranveer/Ranbir are far better choices in terms of return-on-investment.

Salman has a very carefully created image. In the last decade, he/his management very expertly switched it from a 'bad boy' getting in trouble with the law to a 'dilwala' superstar known for Being Human, and launching new talent in the industry while facing losses (woh bhee not a single success story so far besides Sonakshi 😆). Out of ALL the stars, he is the one who should be MOST image conscious, because its HIS primary fanbase that go to see their hero, and not the film/story (no offense for any Sallu fans here). They want to see Bhai! But now if Bhai is acting like a puppet, then there is no more any desire to watch Bhai movies.

The way he used to come on stage and openly serve justice in BB is a small part of it, and this season, he is losing it. Even BB said in that 10-year celebration showreel last week that part of why Salman works as a host is because he challenges even the channel/production. But this time, even Shukla fans on Twitter are laughing about the bias and saying there is nothing Salman can do because he is a slave of the channel. This is not the 'bhai' image he needs in order to sell his 80s south remake wala brainless action movies.
