This was an interesting take. I don’t think any forum/SM outlet represents the general audience - or even the majority. Because that’s a pretty impossible measure for a show like this, and one cannot discount PR activity on certain sections of SM.

That said - it’s definitely a reflection of what some of the audience thinks. Because we - the people posting on IF - are part of the viewership. And this forum is for discussion of the show.

The digs taken at this forum - that it’s anti-Shukla, that it’s jealous (LMAO), that it’s toxic - it makes me wonder sometimes. I came into this season liking Shukla - in fact, only liking him. But if the man chooses to do a 180, and transforms into the worst personality I have ever seen on this show - phir bhi support karu? Yeh kahan likha hain? And if I don’t - I’m a hater and I’m jealous? Seriously - the juvenile-panti gets so tedious.

And the toxic dig - LMAO - people are willing to put Shukla - the flag bearer of toxicity - on a pedestal, and think this forum, which has the apparently tiniest facet of viewership, and mostly consists of people not enamored by Shukla - is toxic? Yeah - ok.

That Shukla has fans doesn’t faze me - most contestants who’ve been on this show have their takers. That people propagate him as the best contestant to have graced this show, as an amazing person, while so casually disregarding how atrocious he is - that does faze me. To each their own, sure - but I don’t get it.

And if the “majority” does indeed belong to shukla, and if as many claim - it is a reflection of the general audience - meaning that most are accepting of and even applauding such traits and behavior - then I think that’s rather sad and a little worrying. But oh well - so are plenty of other things in the world.

Chalo, violence ka I get it people think he's dabang or whatever to break rules. Its stupid but I understand why people think thats cool. We are a society who grew up on Bachchan movies, toxic masculinity in households, and gundagardi in the name of politics afterall. But its the sexist side of him that I just simply don't understand how the masses connect with.

Yeah but that’s the thing, we’ve come a long way from those kinds of movies and mentality. At least I’d like to think that.
Social media nowadays has been used for a lot of wrong things yes, but there is some good there when it comes to current issues and taking an initiative to change something the public is not okay with. There is a kind of freedom of speech and I see most of this coming from India, especially for issues involving women, which is a brilliant thing.
So if it’s really his PR that is faking the trend or whatever, they deserve a serious promotion 😆

I totally agree with you. If there is no other point to defend Shukla's behaviour, this gets pushed onto conversations out of nowhere.

Truer words have never been spoken. This is much more alarming to me. People have normalized such repulsive behaviour to such an extent, that they don't even have the capacity to understand why its wrong.

A wonderful post.

Guys, I went on reddit. People hate shukla there too. So I think, this is a common trend.

People have brains. I believe these trends and all are paid. Just to portray that thukla is very popular.

This forum ans well as Twitter and other platforms do represent the general audience and it's funny when people who disregard a platform still come to talk about that show on that platform. When you have registered with any platform, that platform does matter to you else why waste your precious two minutes registering with a platform that doesn't hold any value? This is only an excuse when their favorite or something they love does not get much support or love else their opinion would be different.
