~ Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Part 5 ~
[Recap: Sunny is hearbroken from what he saw happening between Payal and Bhaskar. Both Sunny and Mr Lalooo Sam ran out of the auditorium. Armaan asks Bharti to be his date for their upcoming Prom which is in three days time. ]
Armaan:
Hah! Leave that aside. I myself haven't quite got that yet. So I'm not sure...... Hey Bharti um why not you go with me to Prom Night this year? As my.. You know date.?
Armaan asked Bharti with earnest eyes.
Bharti (looks up at Armaan so fast that her glasses once again almost slides off but she manages to push it back): What? You're kidding me right..Gosh you know Armaan it's not funny to play such pranks..
Armaan: No i'm serious this time round. Really, trust me. Bharti (Looks deep into her eyes with a serious look) would you like to go with me to the Prom as my date?
Bharti: Hah! You're getting weirder by the minute I swear! The paint must have gotten into your head! Lets just concentrate and get back to work yea? I don't want to come for another detention just to finish up this workload.
Armaan: No Bharti! You're not taking me seriously! I really am asking you and it'll be really great if you could give me an answer cos i'm still waiting you know! Just think of it, i haven't got any idea who to go with and well you too..
Bharti (cutting him): No you're wrong i have Sunny.
Armaan: Oh please Bharti! Sunny? He would rather go with a guy and I'm sure he woudn't mind if you're going with someone else..
Bharti: Ok look lets just not talk about this right now..Can we finish what we've got to do first?
Armaan (confused at why Bharti isn't giving him an answer): Gosh what's wrong with you? It's just so simple you just have to say yes or no.....Oh..oh wait a minute i think you're getting the wrong idea..When i said as my date i just meant we going as friends nothing more than that..I hope you know that..
Bharti: Yea off course i know that..(But deep down weirdly she felt slightly disappointed when she heard that)..Ok really i would appreciate it if we get back to work. Like now..
Armaan was annoyed and just took his paintbrush and started painting..They didn't speak to each other till the end of Detention.
It was nearly 8pm and finally the four of them were done with their work .Mr Lalooo was not there, he must have been still running for his life. 😆 While Sunny had already left for home as he didn't have much to do and plus he was heattbroken and angry with Payal. Bhaskar and Payal already left the Auditorium. Before leaving Payal told Bharti,
Payal: Hey Bharti! I'll go and get my things from the locker first then will meet you downstairs ok..
Bharti: Yes sure Payal.See ya!
And it was left with Armaan and Bharti. Armaan held the door open while Bharti went outside. Armaan was about to bid goodbye to Bharti when she said,
Bharti : Hey about the date right. I think i would love to...
Suddenly someone shouted, "AAARRRRRRRRMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!"
Both Armaan and Bharti were surprised and were trying to find the source of that sound. Then once again the person screamed
"AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRMAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN DOWN HERE AT THE FOYER!!"
Bharti and Armaan quickly looked down at the foyer and there they saw Tina
holding a cardboard in her hands which read "Armaan would you be my prince charming and come with me as my date to the Prom night this Saturday?" and she looked at Armaan with the most innocent eyes.
A small group of people had gathered around Tina and they stared shouting "Say Yes! Say yes Armaan!! Yes! Yes!"
Armaan was shocked to see that Tina going to such an extent to be his date. He was partially disgusted by her desperateness but at the same time flattered. I guess he was just in a confused state as to how to feel when he saw what was happening down at the foyer. He looked at Bharti one last time and said,
Armaan: You haven't given me your answer, i'm still waiting you know
Bharti: You've got your answer Armaan, down there at the at the foyer
Armaan looked down at the Foyer and saw Tina still there with her cardboard this time with pleading eyes. He's heart just didn't want to say Yes to Tina. He was in a fixed state. The only person who could help him right now was Bharti because if she were to say yes he would have immediately rejected Tina. Once again you turned to look at Bharti. Sadly she had already left. He was slightly disappointed and with a heavy heart he said,
Armaan: Yes Tina! I'll love to be your prince charming (and he forcefully/faintly gave a smile)
With that answer from Armaan's side in resulted in several reactions. Some were cheering. Some, especially girls, started weeping and running away from there because they no longer stood a chance to go with Armaan and the rest were annoyed by the popularity of Armaan, mainly guys.
Well at least one thing good came out from it. That is Tina was saved from embarrassment. Just imagine being rejected in front of the whole crowd. It would have spoilt her image.
Hearing Armaan's answer Tina gave a squeal and started jumping up and down. She immediately ran up to where Armaan was standing and flew into him.
Giving him a tight hug. Armaan reluctantly gave her a squeeze back then he
heaved a deep sigh out, thinking how it's gonna be torturous night come Saturday.

The next three days were busy for everyone. They were out shopping, trying to find the perfect outfit for their Prom night. Everybody wanted to look their best on this very special night. Well the guys didn't have much of a problem but the ladies! Ah huh! This is where we need the Fashion Guru to come help us..! In this case help Payal and Bharti.
Oh Sunnnnnyyyyy!! 😃
Sunny: Put that away Bharti! It's making me blind! How gross! Don't go choosing such Bright, disastrous colour okay?!! Come here my darls try this golden sequin dress! It'll look PISSSSSSSSSSSST H. O. T , hot on YOU! Go, go go....(and he shoos Bharti away)
So thats Sunny the Fashion Guru for the girls, Payal and Bharti. After much consoling and also pampering with chocolates, Sunny finally forgave Payal and they both reconciled. They decided to never let a guy come in between their friendship. Sunny thinks it's not worth to break their friendship of 5 yrs with a guy whom they just know for 2 yrs. Pretty wise of Sunny i must say.😆
It was Friday morning, one day prior to the Big day and the trio were out SHOPPING!! Well Bharti was dragged along. They were at "The little Boutiques Shop" which sold dresses specifically for Proms . Bharti and Payal were trying on outfits while Sunny was helping them by giving his views and the DOs and DON'T s....
Sunny: OH M GEEEEEEEE!!! Payal you look Gorgeous!! Wow wow wow!! This dress is perfect on you!!! The colour red suits you so well!! I'm proud of you!! (and he starts jumping up and down with Payal)
Payal (squealing and jumping with sunny): YES! YES!! WE found my dress!! Yay!! Oh thank you so much Sunny! (and she kisses his cheeks and hugs him)..Gosh it's feels as though i've found my perfect gown for my wedding!!
Sunny(still jumping): Yes!! The perfect gown!!! So true!! (points his fingers out in the air , making Payal look straight ahead but they are both actually staring into space) Imagine you walking down the aisle and there you prince charming..waiting for you and and...
Bharti : Ahh guys, i think that's a ted bit too much..I mean thinking of it as your wedding day? Weird!! It's just Prom. And Payal you haven't found your wedding dress you found your PROM dress! Lots of difference you know. Pls guys you're making a fool out of yourselves! Hahah
Payal (woken up from her dream with sunny, irritated): Oho! Bharti, you just had to spoil it! No harm fantasising right?
Sunny: Yes darling! I too do it at times..😆
And the three of them laughed..Then Bharti says,
Bharti: So guys how do i look in this gold sequin dress?
Payal: Hmm i don't quite like it.
Sunny: Yes dear, i think it doesnn't suit you..Come here try this one..It's the last option for you here if not we'll go down town and find for you another dress.
Bharti gets annoyed but she takes the dress still and went inside the dressing room once again.
Bharti (to herself inside the dressing room):
I hate trying on these outfits! Such a waste of time! Use it one day then it collects dust in my wardrobe.Such Prom nights are so boring! Everybody will be there with their dates, dancing away and me siting there watching them dance..Boring!..I shd have not come!...
Suddenly she got reminded of Armaan and what he asked her,
Bharti (to herself): Hmm yea Armaan did ask me huh. Gosh why didn't I give him an answer. Should have just said yes. For once i would have a proper date and he's not that bad actually. Kinda sweet, and his smile..oh what about those dark eyelashes i saw..Wonder how it would have been like if i were his date..I'll be treated like a lady, never experience someone treating me that way before. Well I've seen it before me when guys treat Payal but me..well nvr has quite happen before..
Sunny (Knocking on the changing room door) : Bhartiiiii!!! Hurry up darling!!! What you doing in there? We've got lots to do! There's accerceries to get, hairdos to decide, make-up to choose and.. and....(Sunny was saying but suddenly he stopped when he saw Bharti coming out of the changing room.. He opened his mouth wide, fans himself with his hands and says )
Sunny: WOWWWWW... Beautiful!! To die for!...Bharti it brings me great pleasure to say, YOU'VE FOUND YOUR DRESS!!!...I'm so happy for you!"
Bharti (surprised and at the same time relieved that she has found it finally): I have??..I have??? Yes i havvee!! Yay!! (and she jumps with Sunny)
Payal: Wah wah, looks who's jumping now huh...Come on here Bharti, take a look at yourself at the mirror you'll love it even more..You look very pretty! (Payal says and gives Bharti a warm, sweet smile)
Bharti goes to the mirror and looks at herself. For the first time she felt something different. She felt pretty not just within the inside but also the outside too. She started smiling and was twirling around. She felt not geeky, not nerdy but just Beautiful.
She looked at her friends who were standing beside her and admiring her too and she said spreading her arms out "Group hug?!" Sunny and Payal both flew towards Bharti. Bharti whispered to them "thank you! You guys are the best..Love y'll to ..." before she could complete her sentence, Sunny and Payal said at the same time "bits and pieces!"and they all laughed while still hugging each other. So the Green, flowy one shoulder dress was Bharti's eventually..:)

At the enterence Sunny, Bharti and Payal were just standing there absorbing in all they could. They were awed by the decorations and the put up of everything. Well they ought to be proud of themselves because they did help out a bit with the decorations. The banner that Armaan and Bharti painted was hung up on the stage where they were live performances going on by renowned bands.
Coloured Balloons were floating everywhere with an addition to helium filled balloons which were stuck onto the ceiling. The dance floor was was kinda like those discotheque with a grand big shiny disco ball hung in the middle. The hall was filled with Rounded tables in which the cloth were red and golden in colour. There was the mocktail bar and also the dessert area.
Many of the students had already arrived and were mingling around with their friends and busy clicking away pictures.
Payal: WOW! The place looks amazing!
Bharti: Yea man! I Coudn't have agree with you any better!
Sunny: This is it babes! Lets Rock!
And Sunny gave his arms to Bharti and the two of them entered the hall. Payal on the other hand was with Aditya. All four of them entered the hall and started mingling around.
(A quick overview of Aditya)
Name: Aditya
Full Name: Aditya Seth
Age: 18 yrs old
What he does: Studies in West- End College and also a 2nd yr student.
More about him: He's handsome, very athletic. Is actually one of Armaan's circle of friends. Quite close to Armaan. He's always had a liking for Payal. Finally he mustered the courage to ask her out for the Prom. She said Yes and he's overjoyed to the extent that he is planning on popping the question to Payal tonight itself. Well not the "will you marry me" one but the "will you be my GF" one. A proposal.
One hour into the night, dinner was being served. Aditya, Payal, Bharti, Sunny and their group of other friends were seated around one of the tables. The food was scrumptious and they were very much helping themselves by going for second rounds. While eating, there were games and lucky draws going on with the host for the night. He was doing a good job in entertaining them. Bharti was looking around wondering way Armaan was. Halfway through dinner,
Sunny:
Guys, lets go attack the dessert section! I hear that they have delicious strawberry cheesecakes and mixed fruit tarts. It is to DIE FOR! Lets go!
Bharti: Yes i'm quite thirsty, wanna get some more fruit punch..Oh lets try the mocktails. (and the trio left from there)
At the mocktail counter,
Bhaskar was standing there with his group of friends. The bad guy section. Bhaskar looked not to scary for once. He had on a tight long white sleeved shirt with a black vest over it. Quite decent looking. But Bhaskar Bhai didn't leave his entics at home. He was back to bullying. Nanhe, the school nerdy boy, was being attacked. Bhaskar and his friends were pouring fruit punch on him making him all drenched.
Bhaskar: AHAHAHAHA! Nanhe nerdy you don't cross my way! Because if you do! You're dead meat!! Oohh look look here's comes the fruit punch it's now in a glass and..and... ooops i spilled it on you!! Aaaaww you poor boy!! You pee'ed on your pants!! Shame shame!! (he says pulling Nanhe cheeks and they burst out laughing.)
Bhaskar was about to pour another another glass onto Nanhe when he saw Payal coming toward the counter. He immediately changed the situation, saying loudly to get Payal's attention,
Bhaskar: Arre, what are you guys doing? Stop bullying Nanhe. Leave him alone i say. You know it's right to do such things. Come come Nanhe let he help you (and he puts his arms around Nanhe)
Nanhe horrified by Bhaskar sudden change in attitude quickly ran away as soon as he was set free
Bhaskar: Eh what happened to him?.. Hahah.. You guys are evil!..(then Payal was infornt of him) Oh Hi Payal! You looking very pretty in that red dress.
Payal (going red) : Hello Bhaskar and ..and thank you. So do you..I mean not in a dress but but...in that vest and white shirt....
*song playing*
Bhaskar:
Hahah..Hey great song! You want to ah..?
Aditya:
There you are! Been finding for you! Come lets hit the dance floor!! (and he pulls Payal away form there)
Bhaskar was left standing there alone and he was furious but this time round he coudn't do anything. He had wanted to dance with Payal but Aditya came and pull her away. Payal turned around and smiled at him. Bhaskar smiled back, he coudn't resist Payal sweet smile. But as soon as she turn back around his smile faded and he was frowning.
Sunny and Bharti were so caught up with choosing the best desserts at the dessert area.
Sunny: Oooh yum yum! Strawberry cheesecakes and look at these egg tarts. Hey Bharti pass me another plate please! This plate is too full already!
Bharti: Sunny take that cream puffs! Oh wait the custards too!! And..and that yummy brownies! You take while i go grab a plate!
Just as Bharti turns around she bumps hard into Armaan. She was about to fall onto the ground when Armaan caught her hands. Armaan was mesmerisied by how gorgeous Bharti looked tonight in green frilly dress. He just open his mouth, looked at her and finally closed his mouth when Bharti said,
Bharti: Ahh Armaan, care to lift me up? Am kinda in an awkward position.
Armaan: Oh yea so sorry! Here you go. Up on your feet! (and he put her to stand straight)
Suddenly Tina starts shouting,
Tina: Armaan!! How clumsy of you!! My dress!! Arrrghhhh!! It's ruin now all because you spilled that drink on me when you bumped into Bharti!! This is a crisis!! I have to go repair the damage! I'm off to the ladies!..(and she stomps off)
Armaan: Phew! Thank god she left! No actually thank you for bumping into me! Perfect timing! And by the way you look stunning tonight! Very.. very ( he looked sincere) beautiful. Love your dress. Green ah goes well with your skin.
Bharti (blushing) : Thank you. You look not too bad yourselve. Very handsome in that long black sleeved shirt. The tux fits you like a glove.
Armaan: Oh i like the sound of that..Hahah so you having a great time?
Both Armaan and Bharti turn to the centre stage to see Tina on the dance floor and she was dancing for her beloved Armaan. Everybody had their eyes solely on Tina. Lets have a look at it shall we?

Now more girls (basically Tina girlfriends) starts joining Tina and dances around Armaan. He tries to move away but every step he takes the ladies follow him. He can't even squeeze out as they pulled him back and there he was stuck and surrounded by all the girls who were still dancing to the song.

When Sunny and Mr Lalooo Sam made an appearance in the song Armaan managed to finally escape and he came running back to the dessert area where Bharti was standing there still amused and laughing hard at Mr Lalooo Sam. She was also cheering loud and clapping along for Sunny! They sure did heat up the dance floor because eventually when the song was about to finish everybody were dancing their hearts out! It was a very high spirited atmosphere! Armaan saw Bharti through the crowd and went towards her,
Armaan (shouting because the music was very loud) : Gosh! Thank god you're still here! Phew!! I FINALLY escaped from Tina! Bharti that was just bad bad and BAD!! How embarrassing!
Bharti (fighting with the loud music) : Armaan you're here?! Why aren't you chiggy wiggying with Tina on the dance floor?..Didn't you like it? All the girls surrounding you? Hahahahahaha!!...
Armaan: Ha! Ha! Ha! Very FUNNY! I hated every thing about it! This Tina sticks to me like a leech! She follows me everywhere, holding my arms all the time! I was so annoyed BUT I should have known that this was gonna happen when I said yes to her.
Bharti looked down because she felt partially guity. If she had said yes to Armaan instead he woudn't have been having a bad time at Prom.
Bharti: So I reckon you not having a good time eh?
Suddenly the DJ made an announcement,
DJ: This goes out to all the lovers in this hall. Bring your ladies out here to the dance floor for the next romantic mix. Enjoy.

Tina comes budging in,
Tina: Arrrrrrmaaaaaannnnn!! Come darling lets go dance! It's a slow damce! Come! Come! (and she drags Armaan away)
Armaan reluntantly goes, but before going her turns around and said sorry to Bharti and he smiled. Bharti too smiled back but later it faded as once again she was left alone there standing.
Payal was with Aditya on the dance floor too and they were both dancing intimatedly and very slowly. Bharti wondered what it felt like to dance with a boy. She turned to Sunny but he was busy eating cakes now, famished from all the dance that he did. She saw this and juts laughed. She was about to join him when suddenly,
Gyaan: Excuse me Bharti.. Would you..would you...go..i mean..i mean like to d..d..dance with me?
Okay so here's the introduction of Gyaan. (looks the same as the spectacles Gyaan in BB)
He's a very good, disciplined boy. A sweetheart and has always had a crush on Bharti but was very afraid of telling her as he feared of what the outcome might be. Today however he just couldn't hide his feelings any longer after seeing how this is one of the few last days of school. And Prom nights are definitely a night to remember. So he wanted to make it special for himself and Bharti and since Bharti was standing all alone he decided to ask her for a dance.
Bharti: Hey Gyaan, yea sure. I would love too. (and she walks with him hand in hand to the dance floor)
Gyaan gets excited and he smiled widely. He hesitated abit to place his hands around Bharti's waist but after much thought he eventually place his hands which were trembling.. Bharti on the other hand was anxious and this was her FIRST dance with a boy but she tried to remain calm.
And so One side we have Payal- Aditya then there was Armaan-Tina and finally Bharti-Gyaan. The threes pairs were dancing quite close to each other. It was quite the same situation for Bharti and Armaan as how it was for Genelia and Imran in "Jaane Tu Yah Janne Na"..
They both occasionally glanced at each other. Giving side looks especially Armaan. He wasn't comfortable seeing Bharti with Gyaan. Somehow he felt like being in Gyaan's Place. Tina however had her arms around Armaan's neck and was leaning on his chest. Armaan couldn't do anything but this position gave him a clearer picture of Bharti and Gyaan Dancing. He was frustrated and decided to look away but once again his eyes met with Bharti's and they both had a moment of connection.

Finally Armaan broke away from Bharti's eye contact and he left the dance floor leaving Tina to stand there on her own. Tina did grab his arms but he pushed her hands away. He walked pass Bharti looked at her and gave a slight smile and then he went off towards his table. Tina was emabarssed for being left alone on the dance floor and she quickly ran away.....
