There is a clear difference here between control/obsession and love.

Then when Saanjh was bleeding and the moment she saw that Arjun was hurt all she cared was about Arjun who was bleeding, she forgot about her own pain in that moment.

While all Maya now wants is to inflict more pain on Arjun.

All she wants is destruction

Today once again she told Jhanvi ki 'apne bhagwan as dua maango ki mere dushmanon pe vo taras khae kyuki Main unhe chodungi nahi' something similar she said

Again she challenged God.

I don't think there is any salvation for Maya until and unless she reaches for her once best friend Ganesha...the day she will stop challenging God , the day she will realise her mistakes , the day she will take Ganesha's hand will be the day she will be relieved from all this pain and darkness and then only she will go into the light and be at peace.

She doesn't realise that the pain and darkness she wants for and inflicts on others has consumed her as well.

Now Maya has gone completely dark and now will begin the phase of Beyhadh hatred and the phase of revenge.

As far as Jhanvi and Maya are concerned all I can say is that no one should share a relation like this mom and daughter duo.

I think you should watch the tattoo episode of Maya and Arjun again to say that she didn't care when Arjun was in pain and continued to do it .
Maya started to tattoo her name on his chest and the moment she sensed his pain she stopped and looked up at him with concern in her eyes . But it was Arjun who pulled her hand and told her not to stop. Tattoo isn't something so painful to have . In today's day every second person has one. Also Arjun already had a big tattoo on his hand maybe it's KTs but since it's not hidden to show Arjun never was into such things so writing a small tattoo with a 4 letter word cannot be that painful for a person who already has a bigger tattoo on his hand . Was Sanjh concerned that time too ? Arjun and Maya tattoo scene was one of the most intense and epic scene of Beyhadh and so many articles came out regarding it .
Saanjh and Arjun look like brother and his little sister. no chemistry between the couple.

When Maya and Arjun were getting married all the apshaguns were forced.Like Jhanvi saw Ashwin with the gun and pushed Arjun out of the way and in the process he bumped into Maya and her mehendi smudged and ppl shouted Apshagun. Then Vandy created a scene about not welcoming her and rushed off in such a hurry that she bumped into Ayan and the thaali fell from his hand ..don't know how a piece of glass too came at the doorstep when a new bride would be entering that Maya's feet got cut in it and Arjun had to pick her up and entered the room. He was crying that time too and looked so worried that he raised a finger and told Saanjh to shut up when she tried to say something so now it's odd when he says he was never in love because if you see those scenes compared to today's even though KT isn't a good actor his concerns looked more genuine forMaya than this time.
Mehendi scene too they had to meet because Arjun saw on Tv Ashwin had come to the ceremony and was harassing her and so he rushed there and we get to see that rang Laga de re sequence where Arjun and Maya applied mehendi on each other . Another epic romantic scene of Arya. But that time Arjun was not allowed to see Maya during mehendi as it was considered apshagun by Vandana mata and so she got angry that he went to meet her.
But here Arjun is very much present on their mehendi and surprisingly it was just a masti song for celebration chosen not any close romantic one that they had shown for Arya. Sanju's feet too bled due to mehendi and Arjun got wounded and blood came out .
Cvs actually showing Sanjh name not in Arjun's life. During Mauritius when Arjun wrote Saanjh on the sand it got washed away and no maya had no hand in that as some people would like to say Lol
Then when Arjun tried to put sindoor on Maya Jhansi stopped him and later saanjh stopped him from writing her name on his chest. She had written her name with mehendi which will fade away soon leaving no trace. But the tattoos which arya had and even removed it now will remain with them forever even though it's turned scar. Every time Sanjh has to look at Arjun's chest she will be reminded of Maya .

Read the bold parts- my post wasn't about the whole Sharma/Mathur clan and whether it was an apshagun or not. I was simply observing that Shruti seemed to be mocking/criticising/blaming Saanjh's character wholely and solely for this issue (she didn't say how does that rule book work "Sharmas and Mathurs", but said Saanjheshwari devi)

The only criticism on the day of the mehendi if I remember, came from an outsider, which added to VM's fears. I don't remember Ayaan, Shubh, Suman, Saanjh openly telling that this mehendi was an apshagun.

MH, you started with Maya loving Arjun, and when I countered, switched to Maya loving Jhanvi. Nevertheless, I'll respond.

If my memory serves me right, Arjun wasn't fully hers at that point (in the sense they weren't married).

So that was a transitional period, for her obsessiveness getting transferred from to J to A.

Maya's version of "love" includes protection, but so long as she believes the person she loved has been influenced by third party people (Jhanvi by Ashwin). She also keeps muttering that Arjun is bhola, and influenced by the world, and I need to save him.

The moment the party attempts to think for themselves and even attempt a bit of rebellion (independent of third party control), Maya's urge to control and dominate, and if those two don't work, destroy, steps in.

On the balance of actions, I would say that Maya's "love" doesn't fit in as "love", but more as control.
