@musical we need to know that this show is dealing with not only Maya the character but also Maya the perception.
See it is said that men will support men and women will support women. But look at rape case. Saanjh is against Maya. Samay's testimony, Arjun's support and a male lawyer give Maya support and the female judge gives verdict in favour of Maya.
Now a female lawyer is supporting a female. A female is supporting a male and a male judge is going to send verdict against a male.
So it is not about men and women. It is about how you are connected the results happen. A man can also favour women and go against a man
A woman can also favour a man and go against a woman. It all depends on your perceptions.
When rape case comes the perception is that a woman cannot falsely accuse, so it is tilted in Maya's favour from beginning
In current case if a middle class man marries a rich woman it is for money, it is tilted against Arjun's favour.
A woman meddling too much in a couple's affair is trying to be mistress is what goes against Saanjh.
Now look at the way Vandana takes Arjun from mandap. The girl who has stabbed her father is not good. The girl who broke the glass is not good. A pregnant woman will change.
These perceptions we need to know that has been formed due to some incidents in the past or a pattern of incidents in the past. A general set of behavior meant such and such things.
It is like analyzing data of the past and predicting future. But even the best analytics say their data is only 90% accurate as past can never predict future. There will be someone who go past those perceptions and show a different path.
We see that in history as well as mythology. The path showing, the light showing. A person who rises above Maya and prove the world wrong. Tell them their perceptions are wrong. This doesnt come in dialogues, it comes in action. Where you defy the logic of Maya. It is the test of fire.
In EHT you can see it very clearly in both Durga and Dev, when Durga decides to marry Shaurya she wanted to protect her friend and when Dev decides to marry Durga he thinks he had to let go of his love for Nithya. It's a hard path, but he takes that for her.
