There was a scene where Maya shows all her bruises and ask you still went to him. Maya saying suffering pain, she is used to pain. The way she projects back at Arjun hitting her is what Ashwin has done. Use his injury to humiliate her and call her mad. People like Vandana Mata believed a man like Ashwin or rather they always believe men however cruel they are without seeing why the woman or the child had behaved that way.

So Maya learned to speak sob stories to make things against men. She is like Ashwin because she has only seen that method for survival. The society didnt allow her to live any other way, when they believed the facade of Ashwin. Jhanvi made it hard for her providing no emotional support from childhood.

@dexter Jhanvi killing Ashwin is probable but again the killer is left hand. Jhanvi I see uses right hand. Is there anyone who uses left hand or any scene where you remember someone has used left hand in a deft manner.

I agree with you, i dont understand her, is she a victim or what?? does she love Maya? i dont think so...she is very strange as a mother from start.

True, Maya hasn't known any other way to survive. No one was there to guide her and shake her to her senses that she's wrong. Her ways are wrong. That she's unwell. Not pagal. That she needs treatment.

Jhanvi lacked the courage to do so, and Arjun lacked the brains. End result, everyone suffers

The point we need to know here is that Maya was surviving not living. There is a lot of difference between survival and life.

When you are in a family protected by parents, loved by parents you live, you dont even know what pain is, what death is because all you know is life as a beautiful picture. But if every day of yours you need to fight to breathe, to stay alive the story becomes different. You learn how people survive, how a hungry child who steals a piece of roti is punished, while a man who loots crores is let off.

Post marriage she thought of living. But again things went to survival mode. Because for her marriage to survive again she has to fight.

Saanjh on the other hand has lived. She got most things in a gold platter for her, except the toy called Arjun. That toy was hers so she believes, Maya took it. If Maya can trust Arjun Saanjh wont have power. Problem is Arjun's actions dont generate that trust.

If she could say dance with Arjun and Arjun breaks Saanjh's hand and take her to Samay, that is the real victory for Maya. But she doesnt understand it. Also she doesnt understand if Saanjh dance with Arjun, she go and dance with Samay. So Arjun wont have voice to ask her why she danced with another man.

Maya doesnt know both the methods. She doesnt know to say " Get lost" to Jhanvi and Arjun. Her insecurity with respect to these 2 people has been exploited to the hilt by others. And they still remain Maya's weakness.

I have never said jahnvi as a woman deserves much bows. For any woman, her respect is everything. Jahnvi had self respect issues always. And rest I have already said, what her inferiorities were, how she could be easily misled and all.

A psychopath always tries to hold onto someone he/she feels safe with. If maya had held onto jahnvi so strong, I beg to disagree that she's the worst kind of mother. Situations, her fragile mindset made her not a great mother, but never a worst mom. That's what the TM claims and I disagree with.

Jhanvi does love Maya but in a twisted way. The positive things about her are, she has protected Maya but only on certain occasions but she was not there for Maya when she needed her the most. She did not stand for Maya when Ashwin was abusing & torturing her in her childhood. She has been clinging on to Ashwin though she knew that it would come to their lives.

Despite all Ashwin's tortures, Maya did call him dad but he was hell bent on killing her. Though Maya had got the genes of Jhanvi & Ashwin, she does have a soft side. She wants to be a good DIL & a good person but she didn't get an opportunity.

Jhanvi chose Ashwin over Maya for no fault of hers. Now Jhanvi is choosing Vandana & Arjun over her.

The bottom line is Maya suffers in both the ways whether right or wrong.

I for one really expect Jhanvi to not repeat the mistake of shielding a criminal for that will result into Maya's & her complete destruction.

@bold: Yes, Jhanvi should speak up but in an unbiased way. I have seen other characters complaining about Maya's misdeeds but they never tell what they did. Everyone are responsible for their actions so it is wrong to blame only one person.

@bold The two persons who Maya loves have made the relationship toxic for themselves. Jhanvi never stood for Maya when Ashwin kept torturing her. Where was she when Ashwin had dipped little Maya into the water & applied paint on her? Where was she when Ashwin had locked her in the dark room? Even after that, he still kept torturing her. Ashwin had given the sweets to Jhanvi because of which she ended up in the hospital. Jhanvi is at the age where she should be controlling her daughter in her childhood & fight the world for her which any good mother does. But Jhanvi has not been a good mother.

The other one is Arjun. He had behaved irresponsibly & has been insensitive before the leap by boozing & telling ILU to Saanjh at the restaurant. When Maya saved Saanjh from getting burnt, Arjun had ignored her burns & had attended to Saanjh. He allowed Saanjh to apply colors on him before Maya did. He told Ayaan what Maya did but has conveniently washed his hands. Maya told Samay that she has given plenty of chances to Arjun & this will be the last one. So that definitely gives me a glimpse of what Arjun had done in those 3 years that has made Maya make the screws tight for him so as to suffocate him. I am not justifying Maya's actions but for whatever reasons she does, there is a strong reason behind it.

Yes, Maya needs to bring her true friend back to her life.

Can you elucidate how and when has Jhanvi made Maya feel safe?

Also, another perspective is that, that she suffers from extreme OCPD and can not let go of these two people. That she feels suffocated when her control over them falters.

That more than being emotionally attached to them, she's drawn to them due to her illness which she mistakes for love.

@kavsy Jhanvi's love and Arjun's love are in a way illusions to Maya. They need Maya to satisfy their physical needs of luxury, but cannot provide her emotional suppor, which will help her to stop using CCTV camera and other things. So they remain her Achilles heel always.

@Hadhsejyada a noble man should have taken Saanjh to Samay yesterday instead of allowing Saanjh to cling on to him. Arjun's problem is he feels Maya's insecurity gives him a superiority. Again goes with the dialogue Pagalpan kam karo tho pyaar kam ho jaata hai and pyaar kam karo to Pagalpan sir chadke bolta hai. So he mostly chooses the second option where in front of his family she becomes second case, because if the pagalpan is reduced he believes she will not love him anymore madly.
