That's okay. What's there to hate a fictional character? Draining emotional energy for a nonexistent character is futile. 😆 Truth be told, people in general tend to sympathize to complex characters more because humans are mostly complex themselves. But I guess the disagreement arises when the extremely negative deeds are tried to be covered up using nonsensical logic.

I don't hate her. She's one of the best written FL character, a dark protagonist. There are few qualities in her which I absolutely love abt her. I adore her intelligence

Maya's methods are completely unacceptable! I think almost everyone sees that way & no second opinion on that!
What about her intentions or goals?
She is supposedly doing all these things to retain Arjun!

Then ,it must be confined between husband & wife! Isn't it?
Either husband should listen to wife or wife must listen to her husband & get it resolved!
But they are not resolving the issue between themselves & husband goes around & drags his relatives into this mess!
The relatives were away from couple for 3 years because it was the couple's decision not to have any links with them!The husband goes & breaks the taboo & hobnobs with them! Wife does not like it & hence punishes him!
Alright, because the husband is either used to this treatment or he does not mind it! And we too do not want to meddle between them!
But, because of Arjun, his relatives get involved in his problems & they in turn get punished by wife unlawfully! And this is not acceptable at all!

Her goal to retain Arjun against his will is still condoned & left as ignorable but if she chooses to punish others just because she can't take it out on Arjun, that is not at all acceptable!

Particularly, they did not come on their own but dragged by Arjun into this mess!

Maya must ask Arjun to stay away from his relatives & Saanjh at least! If she can't make him do that, she should punish only Arjun not others!

Her insecurity about Arjun does not give her any licence to punish his relatives!

Maya is patently wrong both in her thoughts & actions and hence deserves no support from any well meaning person!

You can love her all the more you want, in fact. Maya is a complex, unarguably real and amazing character. She has layers upon layers and there's so much about her that's fascinating. I think 80% of the thrillers and crime fictions are famous for their villains and their anti-heroes more than anything. We love complexities. We love anomalies. I'm the biggest Joker fan around. I've watched Batman like a hundred times just for Joker.😆 And maybe sometimes for Bruce Wayne. But there's nothing wrong in loving a character.

I think the problem is only when you justify a character. Like I love Joker so much but I don't ever justify his deeds. That's plain messed up. 😆but I empathize with him. Which means I understand why he does what he does. These are two different things.

You shouldn't ever have to explain why you love a character. You love them because they pull you. that's about it I guess. 😆
