I had always felt Maya needs a mother. A mother in real sense. Not the pseudo mother Vandana is. Today I would say I saw that mother in Suman. From the word go Suman was uncomfortable seeing Saanjh put colors on Arjun and then Arjun put it on dusky leaving Maya. I saw a mother in her, a woman in her. Yes in consciousness Arjun put yellow on dusky. Then when Arjun took dusky's dupatta Suman really really felt uncomfortable. They were dancing too close for comfort for any wife. But I feel Maya wanted that to continue that is why I guess she gave them more thandai. And yes it had the effect. Saanjh and Arjun danced unabashedely and I feel their hidden emotions came out. Look at the way the red was taken by Arjun, he put it on Maya, but Saanjh took it from his cheeks ( I literally felt sick at that scene). Even the office people are looking. Maya used Suman very well. But I dont think what Maya told was entirely wrong. Society will talk about Saanjh. Everyone was looking at them when Arjun threw Saanjh in the tub. And Suman takes action. She drags Saanjh away. But the power is not gone. Saanjh will come back. After all it is her duffer. I was with Maya for any manipulation she did with respect to Saanjh. Because even before she started manipulation with thandai duffer-dusky were crossing limits making dusky mother herself uncomfortable. Whatever is going to happen now will give Maya only temporary reprise from Dusky, she will come back with one pretense or other into their lives once again.
Reason is Maya is reacting and not acting. She reacts to Arjun's tamasha with Saanjh. Same happened with Vandana. Though Arjun is wrong in front of society, Maya becomes wrong for both Vandana and Saanjh. These two women together has the potential to bring down everything in Maya's life. So to put them in place Maya needs someone. Yes she reached Ayan, and today she reached Suman too. The question is will she be able to take the ghosts of the past with these two people. Maybe we will know only after the leap.
