If you know properly, censor board stops non-fiction and bitter reality more than fiction. There is something called creativity and if censor board is hell bent on showing only reality there is no point of creativity. Nobody will make fictional shows. There wont be any cartoon shows, there wont be super heroes, there wont be people living in mars types of movies, not even horror movies.

It's definitely regressive. I can't understand why this show is so much into superstitions bad omens & these days the weird expressions that Vandu mata keeps on giving I feel her eyes will fall out very soon. I am a Hindu too & yes we do believe in superstions & astrology stuff but here they are going overboard with it. Did not expect this from Beyhadh.
But since it's a phase we have to watch to see how the story unfolds so I am still hanging on to it. Let's see what's in store for us in the coming episodes.
Truth be told even our grandparents these days don't scream Apshagun the way Vandu does when some signs we consider as bad happens... they too have become more chilled out 😆

Despite everything, the fact that a person like Maya would fall in love with a low life like Arjun is what I find most unrealistic about the show 🤣

That I don't find wrong cuz love is blind... Kisko kaun kab pasand aa jaye we cannot say & this I say cuz I have seen such cases of opposites getting attracted where we didn't even dream ki X will ever get attracted to Y & it did happen. 😆
Also in this case it seems to be in Maya's genes cuz Jhanvi too had chosen a sadak chap like Ashwin

See if in the end they are going to justify the superstitions I will call it regressive, but what if the show's script is such that, the end tells exactly the opposite of beliefs.
Indian culture has certain beliefs. It is not that everything is true. But people have perceptions. Especially for weddings people feel a lot about shaguns and all. Many dont send the bride outside atleast one week before the wedding and there are so many things like that.

Coming to astrology there are people who believe in it and even now for marriages horoscopes are matched.

And as Isha told they are marriages that has broken up after perfect matches and there are marriages which have succeeded.

So in the nutshell everything boils down to action or Karma as per the teaching of Sanathana Dharma. Not symbols, perceptions etc..

If the show is showing the final outcome is based on actions then it is not regressive. But seeing the first half calling it regressive is too early is my take.

hi there, okay so if its not indian culture it's hindu culture isnt it ? it they believe if the kundali stuff that is their choice and i dont think that it's fair of you to bash it.

now you're using other examples of treating someone like trash cuz they break a glass that you didnt mention before - well i dont think that that is indian culture per se but i do think that there is a heavy emphasis on how a girl is to behave in her in-laws home. so breaking a glass may ellicit disdain from a girl's inlaws.

im just curious as to what you expected out a show that is based in india that has a strong hindu theme?

pls share your thoughts.

hi there, thanks for sharing your thoughts. i think we need to remember two things here. 1) that there ARE people who believe in these superstitions 2) this is an indian serial so there is going to be an emphasis on a lot of what they show on television for effect.

usually whenever there is a right of passage there a different traditions / rituals / superstitions attached to the said event and you can find this in every culture. given they are newlyweds i can see why there is much more ritual attached cuz marriage is such a huge part of indian / hindu culture.

Yeah I agree that rituals superstitions are very much part of Hindu Indian culture specially during marriages. Among us Bengalis they don't even allow a widow to take part in any sort of ritual considering it as apshagun But Vandana mata is being very much dramatic about it cuz she seems to be screaming at every given chance
