Before I begin, I just want to say that in no way is this meant to be a bashing post but rather something that I've noticed across the course of the episodes. Anyone who bashes will immediately get reported.
Now, moving on.
Ever since the show began, we've seen Saanjh's unrequited love for Arjun. She's grown up as his best friend and along the way she fell in love with him. Various times she's tried to tell him of her feelings but has failed and now that Arjun has found his own love, Saanjh is going through a heartbreak.
With the way the writers have shown us Saanjh's character, I feel that she's brought this heartbreak on herself. Now I can already sense you're going "What the hell are you talking about?" but hear me out. The reason why I feel this way is because Saanjh's decisions have been all based on assumptions.
The first assumption is that Arjun reciprocates her feelings. This is mostly due to both Arjun's family and her own mother and brother egging her on and making her assume that Arjun loves her too. The next assumption comes when Arjun runs off to help Maya when Jhanvi collapses. She assumes that Arjun is running away and disrespecting her family. Although she understands afterwards, her anger is based all on an assumption.
More assumptions are made when Arjun patches up with his mother and again, Vandana and Ayaan tell her it's because of her only. Following which she once again gets heartbroken at seeing Maya taking Vandana's blessings and being the root cause behind Arjun rushing back to his mother.
The one assumption that had me going "Really writers? Really?" was recently when Saanjh makes her trip to Mauritius. She comes to the hotel and follows the clues Arjun "left for her". She assumes the notes are for her and that he is going to propose to her. Now hold up here. Arjun has no clue she's in Mauritius or that she is going to come there then why would he put together this surprise for her?
There are so many assumptions that are made on her part that does not make me feel bad for her one bit but rather she brought it on herself. This is where I'm calling out the writers again because they're just making this character crumble. The only thing that made me feel slightly bad was the actress. Her acting prowess genuinely touched my heart and her sorrow she portrayed made me sympathize with her. But then once again, that was soon wiped away when the mandir scene happened.
Yes, she found Maya's earring. No, that doesn't mean that Maya is a murderer. Could she be? Sure (if this is the case then the writers are losing their wit). Is she? We don't know. Neither does Saanjh. All these assumptions that are being made from her aggravates me because they have this character who is being portrayed by such a talented actress and all they're doing is making her less and less bearable with the way they're writing her.
I sincerely hope the writers can pick up their game with Saanjh. She can still redeem herself. No that doesn't mean she needs to turn negative (I'm looking at you, writers). Show us Saanjh. Not bebas and laachaar Saanjh, who is always crying or looks upset. Come on, get your characters developed well. Maya's not the only character on that show.
That being said, once again, I'd like to remind everyone to keep things civil and please for the love of God don't pick fights with each other or me just because you think this is a Anti-Saanjh post (it's not).
