Yaa, or maybe out of Diya and Antara, Nilanjana just always loved Antara more and was happy when he announced that he is marrrying Antara, but knowing her son, she guessed that Diya would come in as extra package and so let the two marry, hoping Antara would change him and stop the inevitable cheating

Yeah, she would have told MJ also that Antara woh ladki hai jo family ko jod ke rakhegi ...so MJ being so proud of his name and family heritage would have bought into her words keeping Diya as his personal need.
