I don't agree with a lot of the portrayal of the Islamic Faith through Zoya's character but I won't be the one to preach whats right or wrong- Not my place to say.

Just be happy and content! Do your own best and leave everyone else be :)

Haven't seen the tweets u r talking abt, but I'm one of d ppl who has probm with d sudden change in Zoya. Even Yash was a Hindu, but once Zoya married Adi, she removed her nose ring n is wearing sarees. Hope she gets to wear diff types of clothes. Religion part, I don't care. I want Zoya to be distinct n not to be compared to Kumud n Maya.

I was talking about this in the BARC thread too. Ever since Zoya got married with hindu rituals, people started having problems with Zoya following Hindu customs. But I just want to know if these people on SM who are objecting belong to India. Indian people will not have such issues as such with daily soaps because inter religious marriages are common and people celebrate other religions festivals there. There are religious fanatics in India too but will they really take this so seriously?

I am glad so far no controversy has happened except for few ignorant people of SM making a hue and cry over it and hope no big controversy happens in future too.

I just want Zoya to stop wearing bindi. She looks nice without it. With bindi, she looks like stereotyped bahu.

actually people problem are not only she praying God Durga but also she having bindi her look.. she not wearing Noise ring also she not speaking Urdu.. not following her religious

they feeling the Zoya they know was lost somewhere.. anyways they always find Zoya as fault

for me it's OK to follow her hubby religious and all and yes I miss her noise ring

My God what is this. Zoya prayed in church before marriage. Coming to bindi there are many Hindus who don't wear it. Coming to zoya married to yash. Why are people not understanding that girl had a failed marriage. Her mother during pak poosh track asked her was she a good wife which included not integrating with yash family or understanding his customs. In the second marriage that poor girl is trying to rectifying that mistake. By adopting her husband's culture. She may not be completely right but she is not completely wrong either. In interfaith,inter caste marriage girls do adopt boy's culture to integrate themselves with boy's family. And coming to the idea of it shows woman has to accept husband religion post marriage. I come from Kerala and my friends had inter religious marriage. Whether it is Christian or Muslim boy the boy side allowed the marriage only after the girl converted. Her name even was changed. So it happens and is also one of the truth of India which to a great extent is patriarichal. So what they are showing is not unrealistic and going forward they can show zoya in dargah and adi trying to understand Muslim customs to balance it out. BP have always kept the spiritual aspect of the religion than its ritualistic aspect. It's sad that people are making issue out of religion.

Thought of putting one more thing. I am a Hindu Brahmin girl. In my community post marriage during grihapravesh the girls name is changed by the mother in law. And from that day she is supposed to be called only by that name. During my childhood this was practiced strictly. I don't know the maiden name of the ladies married into my family as they were called by their given name. Over the years the strictness has reduced still name is changed. Though everyone in my hubby family including my hubby addresses me with my maiden name if any pooja happens the priest asks what is my given name in my sasural. And he uses that name only. Same thing happens in my community temple if any pooja needs to be done in my name. I am a girl who had arranged marriage. My hubby family love and respect me as their daughter in law. Still they follow the tradition and to be frank my hubby at times do feel happy when I am called by the name given in his family. A kind of apnapan u say. The major reason I write with my name given in my sasural and not my maiden name. So my identity gone if I accept the new identity too. Or should I have shouted u can't follow traditon. My name can't be changed. Certain truths of India u have to accept. Can't bring feminism and rebellion in all aspects.

I m tired of religion these days .bleh bleh bleh.
