Why are you trying to sugarcoat your words? Just say directly that you have a problem with a Muslim woman marrying a Hindu man since its 'against Islam'.

Seriously, very very disappointed with some people in this forum. I have been a silent reader here for the past two months, and it always was a pleasure to read peoples' posts which were so welcoming of religious differences and inter-religious unions. In fact, nobody even mentioned the main characters' religions much in their posts although they were fully aware that they belonged to different religions.

Don't know what happened suddenly; why some people are trying to act like religious fundamentalists and pronouncing fatwas on Hindu-Muslim marriage.

Like I said yesterday in that long battle--- if a religion says something illogical and archaic, defy it. Don't cling to religious rules blindly. Otherwise civilization will be stuck in a rut.

Love conquers all.
I think the idea of a liberal muslim girl and a almost atheist hindu boy who bring about a change in each other , go through hell and back, rediscover their selves, fall in love and stand besides each other forever is what the cvs want to potray.

Is it okay for two strangers whose partners fell in love, conceived a kid even when they were married to their respective spouses good enough for thr average indian trp audience. This will cause massivs indigestion. However they managed to pull it off with the amazing compatibilty that our leads have.

Zoya always leaned towards her husbands family, even when she was married to Yash, i think he was the one who didnt insist thst she comes to mumbai. He built a mansion with money thst was borrowed. Once Zoya came to mumbai neither did Mahi or Madhu ask her about religion. Over here too Aditya never insisted on a hindu wedding. Zoya asked pls name our relationship. Maybe there was track where adi applies sindoor and they get married in court ( this isnt related to the post but more towards Zoyas charachter ).

The channel brought in Vatsal, hina, karan and the snake.

Again leads hsving different backgrounds, big fat indian wedding, serial depicting bengali culture, festivals, rituals, progressive or regressive mind sets, historical and religious shows are all for trps

Not all cvs do research on each and everything.. BP has no rural potential, they have to connect with urban audiences which consist of all religions including hindus and muslims.

More than the charachters religion , its the charachter itself which received lot of backlash, plus the story line. We can see from trps that it isnt easy to accept difficult concepts. There are lot of loose ends ehich needs to be secured.

Sorry, to barge in...I don't think so that here TM was trying to say that she has a problem of zoya being a muslim and marrying a hindu guy.

she was just not getting the point of "Only hindu rituals" for an inter-faith marriage. Till now, the discussion has been healthy, you should read the whole thread, people have made quite good points in regard of this topic.😃

Its really nice to see the globalization affect in BP, and I hope more show follows the same.

Its high time to change the perception, and shows like BP are definitely baby steps towards the same!😊

Well, she did say that the marriage went against the rules of Islam and she explicitly clarified that its forbidden for a Muslim to marry a non-Muslim. I read her posts.

religion is not everything. Our judiciary system allows it.
Religion is a means of brainwashing il-literates. Its the work of a literate mind to entertain ta thought without accepting it.

That's what I was trying to explain to the religious bigots yesterday too. That in the 21st century, backdates religious rules should be shoved in the trash bin.

It's really offensive seeing these kinds of posts popping up everyday.

Out don't usually reply to these just click like it.
But on a lighter note. It might be the Urdu. He wouldn't be able to call her Urdu queen or galib if she was Hindi as I could be wrong but mainly this is spoken by Muslims rather than Hindi.

I sorry if I have offended anyone. Just my thought I could be wrong.

this things should not be made a taboo to be talked about.

A muslim girl is forbidden to fall in love with a Hindu man and marry him for his faith. Sorry to be rude but there is no logic in this. In case of Hindus even if your husband is abusive you are not allowed to leave him because marriage is a sacred bond for seven lifetime. There is no logic in this either.

My two cents on topic:
1. I think it was quiet conscious decision of making zoya a muslim girl. The show is breaking so many stereotypes quietly. Having both leads from different religions makes their relationship all the more special. Although both of them are not deeply religious but they certainly r well versed with rituals & customs. So if zoya despite being prohibited by her religion to marry a person outside her religion marries a hindu not once but twice shows her rebellious streak , inner strength & determination to go beyond the society norms & truly follow her heart. We have seen her being so stubborn be it in her belief on yash, paak rishta & latest arshad track. The girl is stubborn to d core & only does what her heart wishes. Has she been a hindu, her decision to marry either yash or Aditya wouldn't have been received so much discussion. But here she is defying the norms of society not once but twice. So in a way cvs r challenging the society norms by making her breaking norms & not the Aditya.
They could have shown ML as Muslim & zoya hindu. But then a man breaking stereotype is not new but a girl doing that is big.
If they haven't shown families having any objections on their alliance it's b'coz generally the affluent class doesn't really conform to the rigid society norms. There have been many instances in real world where the industrialists, movie stars, business people do opt for inter religion marriages. I think that's why they have purposely showed zoya's family as an affluent family as then families approving the alliance would be much more believable as they would like to pride themselves on secular & liberal mindset. That liberal upbringing has given zoya the strength to look beyond the society norms & follow her heart. I remember there was a scene after she gets award post leap when while returning back from the award ceremony she stopped near church to pray & Waseem doesn't object at all.
