Phew, I was pretty prepared to write the review today regardless how long it took. It just made me super happy to read the articles praising Harshad's performances and it was SO good. I cannot describe it in words.
I loved the little loops that were used to differentiate between what was hate and what was love. I loved how Zeeshan's chachu came in and that was seriously a brilliant closure to the hate track. I always wondered if they would ever close their open ended loops and I am so happy that they finally did. It was a pleasure having Zee's mamu again. :)
So, the summary of the episode is pretty much Zain's realization point as to what Aliya means to him and I am seriously a happy camper. and Harshad nailed the entire episode from start to finish.
Scenes I loved:
1. Zain's flashbacks into Aliya. I loved how no scene was used but just her face was used, b/w and it give it such a vintage and intense feel. For the first time, I liked Marjiyan, not a fan of the song but it really suited the whole ambiance. So well done makers.šš¼ Loved this scene for Harshad especially. He was excellent and this was just like the starting scene.
2. Loved how Zain told the police guy that his wife is missing. The intensity that came on that time was so good. As a viewer, I was really moved because it was so real. Losing someone is the worst thing ever and to have that emoted so well was icing on the cake.
3. Zee mamu & Zain: This scene was superb. The whole loop finally was closed in this one particular scene. Harshad was EXCELLENT ( this will get repeatedš too many times in the review ), but the despair on Zain's face, to see the cycle, and the sandal and his expressions were bang on. The background music was so good. For the first time, i liked the slow motion walk because it just added to the scene beautifully. The background music changed like the way his expressions changed. I loved it how he picked up each and everything and thought of her, his expressions, the BI sad music playing in the background followed by the beautiful flashbacks of their hate - love story was beautiful. Harshad had no lines, but all he had was emotions, his eyes spoke to us like a thousand stories at once. Just the realization that she means something to him. That was so so good. and it closed the loop so well that what started off as hate finally ended in love. As Zee's mamu spoke, every word pierced. The word corpse was enough to send shivers.
4. Zain and the corpse scene - This was intense and he obviously did something to me, with his performances. I actually cried in this scene because he was that BRILLIANT. each expression was enough to touch heart. The way his heavy heart made it's way to the corpses, was so hard with the BI song following in the background. The journey that started was brilliantly shown, their hands separating, their journey going on a different path, was brilliant and the whole scene gave me shivers man. His expressions that expressed shock to the utter limit, despair, just was brilliantly potrayed by Harshadš and I am clearly glad they didn't see Aliya getting shot because this was a much better thing to show the proper realization.
I always wanted an intense and proper realization and this entire episode completed it. I loved how real the scene was, his hands shaking, his entire body sweating, slowly the white sheets fall off, and everything turned black and white, him crying was so moving...
The precap was BRILLIANT. I think everyone wanted him to go from MKB to Aliya and the way he said her name , like thousands different sounds came out. It was JUST pure intense.
Harshad Arora, take a bow. I am seriously glad you are playing Zain, because I think it takes a lot of caliber and lots of experience to really make the character come alive and you have done within 6 months of Beintehaa. Every time I see you emote on screen, I feel you don't deserve the best debut award, You deserve the best actor award. You are seriously superb and each episode , you have rose and rose with your performances but today, you were superb. I don't have any words to describe your performance today except that please keep us giving these performances and may you keep growing like always.
Hats off to the entire cast & crew for this brilliant episode. Farhan sir , for writing it and maintaining the BI originality as well as the essence of what BI was. To Maan, for directing such a brilliant and superb episode and to the entire crew and cast. Hats offšāļø
