Part 44
"Arav, if you don't tell me this instant, I'm going to scream!" Maya warns.
"We're here," Arav says stopping the car.
"Here? We're at the beach." Maya says as she gets out of the car. "What's the big surprise?"
Arav takes her hand, and leads her to a pani puri stand. "Do you want them really spicy?"
"Arav—what are you doing?" Maya asks.
"Spicy or not?" Arav asks again.
Maya smiles. "Spicy."
Arav orders the pani puri and they both stand there and eat spicy hot pani puri. Maya laughs as Arav eyes' start tearing.
They quickly get a bottle of water, and Arav downs almost all of it while Maya laughs.
"I didn't think they'd be that spicy for you," Maya says trying to hide her smile.
"It—it's okay." Arav says, blowing out air.
Maya lets out a giggle. "We left a five star restaurant for this?"
"You said you loved it," Arav says slowly.
Maya throws out her newspaper and leans over to hug him. "Arav that really is the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me!"
Arav holds her tight. "You're really the most special person in my life right now, so I had to do everything in my power to keep you happy!"
Maya lets go from the hug and starts blushing.
"Uhem—" Arav grins. "Now what would be the ideal dessert for this date?"
"I'd either say a gola or...a nice cold coffee at Cafe Coffee Day in Bandra," Maya says clapping her hands together.
"What would you want more at the moment?" Arav asks, smiling.
"The cold coffee," Maya grins.
"Let's go." Arav takes her hand and they both get into the car.
A little while later Maya finds herself outside the bandra, Cafe Coffee Day. "Arav, you're really going all out on this date,"
Arav grins as he opens her door. "It's surprising actually; it's probably the cheapest date I've ever had."
Maya hits his shoulder as she gets out of the car.
"Ouch! I'm sorry; I mean I'm glad this is how you wanted your ideal date."
Maya grins. "Chale?"
"Always." Arav takes her into the Cafe Coffee Day.
Sanvi and Vikram
"Do you really believe in that?" Sanvi asks halfway through their dinner.
"Believe in what?" Vikram asks back.
"Reincarnation?" Sanvi asks as she takes a sip of her water.
"Sanvi—you already said you don't believe in it, so what's the point in thinking about it or even talking about it now?" Vikram asks.
"Chill out Vicky! No need to get so worked up," Sanvi rolls her eyes. "If he's going to behave like this; I can't even tell him how I really feel about this whole thing. Us being together in a past life? How crazy...but why does it feel so true?"
"Sanvi, I'm sorry for snapping at you." Vikram says quietly. "It's just we both decided we don't believe in it, so why bother discussing it now?"
"Sheesh, Vicky! Seriously I didn't know you'd get so angry about it," Sanvi plays around with her fork.
"Well I am! I believe in reincarnation and you're just not believing any part of it!" Vikram lets out angrily.
"You believe in it?" Sanvi asks, dropping her fork. "You said that you didn't."
"Well I lied." Vikram avoids looking up at her.
Sanvi puts her hand on top of his on the table. "Do you really believe it?"
Vikram nods. "I guess it's the only thing that makes sense for us both to get so close so fast. We could feel the connection instantly, or well I could feel it,"
Sanvi smiles slowly. "I felt it too,"
Vikram looks up at her and smiles back. "I knew you would. After all, we are husband and wife right?" He winks at her.
"Vikram!" Sanvi slaps his hand. "That was in the LAST life...not this one!" She laughs.
"What do you think the reason we came back was?" Vikram asks, suddenly getting serious.
Sanvi stops to ponder for a few minutes, "I honestly have no clue. I guess if we start remembering more about it, then we'll realize?"
Vikram sighs. "I guess you're right," Vikram glances at his watch and notices how late it is. "Hey, we better get Arav and Maya and tell them to head home too, it's so late!"
Sanvi just smiles.
"What?" Vikram asks.
"They left a looonggg time ago!" Sanvi laughs.
"What?" Vikram asks, looking around the restaurant.
Sanvi laughs. "Yeah, I wonder where they must've gone."
"Let's call," Vikram takes out his cell phone and dials Mayas number. Vikram starts int a threatening tone.
"Hello," Maya answers.
"Where are you two?" Vikram demands to know.
"We're at the Cafe Coffee Day...why?"
"Do you know what time it is?" Vikram asks.
Maya takes a few seconds to glance at hers. "It's 11:30, why?"
"Do we not have college tomorrow?" Vikram hints to her.
"Vikram...darling, what day is it?" Maya asks, suppressing a smile.
"Are you telling me you really don't know?" Vikram asks. "It's Thursday night, Maya."
Vikram says.
Maya bursts out laughing. "Vikram...it's Friday night! We don't have college for another two days!" Maya grins at Arav, who then takes her phone of her hand.
"Hey bro," Arav just says.
"Wow, I'm crazy." Vikram laughs.
"Yes, we know that, um could we have some alone time now?" Arav asks.
"Arav—" Vikram starts in a threatening tone.
"Don't worry bro. I'll take care of Maya," Arav says as Maya rolls her eyes. "You just make sure you take good care of bhabhi!" He hangs up before Vikram can say anything back.
Vikram starts at his phone, still hearing the ring tone.
"Kya hua?" Sanvi asks.
"He called you bhabhi, does he know everything?" Vikram mumbles.
"Vicky!" Sanvi laughs. "He's been calling me bhabhi, since Goa!"
Vikram looks up at Sanvi. "Right! But ab batao bhi, what are we going to do about all of this?"
"This? Meaning the re-birth thing?" Sanvi asks as Vikram nods. "Let it be. We need to wait it out. I'm sure we can tell Arav and Maya though. They deserve to know na?"
Vikram ponders this thought.
