OK my lovelies, here is the final chapter, written in a rush as I have to leave town. I am sorry for ending it so abruptly, I lost interest in the story and my writing skills have dwindled down to nil! I hope you guys are not tooooooo disappointed. Thank you sooooo much for reading this FF. This is probably the last story of my short writing career. So adieu my sweet readers. You can't imagine what you mean to me. Love you with all my heart! Please forgive all my mistakes!

Chapter Thirty Five: Happy Ending

Two months later-----

"Sarah"

She looked back at Divya over the counter who was standing near the stove, cooking Biriyani. The mouth watering aroma engulfed the entire house.

"I never had a chance to thank you" Divya whispered; barely audible enough for Sarah to hear. Sarah seemed really surprised at Divya's abrupt statement.

"Thank me? For what Divya?" Divya's eyes had a shade of sadness to them. But then a small smile brightened her face and brought a twinkle in her eyes.

"If Sharad hadn't met you at the park two months ago, if you hadn't discussed Amar's case with your genius doctor brother, we would have never heard of the experimental treatment and..." She trailed off.

"Come on Divya, the miracle only happened because of your love and determination. God only help those who help themselves. My brother's research wasn't even published at that point, it wasn't even recognized by the medical community, never even been tried on guineapigs or rats. No doctor in his sane mind would take such a risk because of litigation fears. But you had such courage, hope and determination and convinced Amar's doctor to perform such a chancy surgery. You can't imagine how much I admire you for your conviction, and faith in your love. You two are unbelievable."

Sarah was literally animated, she paused for a second and added, "If anyone has to be thankful, it's me. Sharad was in such a confusing state of mind. He was torn between Amar's wish and his feelings for me. You gave him back to me by flat out refusing to adhere to Amar's wish. I shall ever remain grateful to you."

"Hey, I am no hero! There was nothing left to do and a drowning woman would catch at anything, straws or your brother's doctoral thesis! And regarding Sharad, there was no question of giving back, he was always yours. You know I am still angry at Amar for making us suffer like that, making weird impossible requests. What did he think? Clearly he had no respect for my love, as if it's an object and I can just remove it from him and place it on Sharad. Don't get me started on that." She laughed.

Sarah joined in the laughter. "Men are really very short sighted."

"No kidding! And your Sharad he is no less. Don't get me wrong, he is my best friend and all, but he is pretty stupid too. He has a tendency of being the martyr! He told me when he reunited Amar and I, how much he loved you and how it feels to be heart broken and then when he finally found his love, he seriously thought against his heart's will to sacrifice all of it and marry me because his crazy stupid friend requested him to!! Ughh. As if what you and I thought or felt don't count at all. They are male supreme, the noble hearted, ever sacrificing martyrs! Such egoistic, know it all, male chauvinists!" Sarah burst out laughing at Divya's tone of accusation to the two men they loved with all their hearts. Both were laughing so hard that they nearly had tears in their eyes!

"And you know what punishment Amar is receiving for his generous stupid stunt he tried to pull off?"

"What?"

"He is sleeping the in the guest bed-room for a month! And I can kiss him or hug him if I want but he can't." Divya raised a brow, really content with the penalty Amar is paying!

Sarah squealed, "OMG, are you serious? That's exactly the punishment Sharad went through for not paying attention to my thoughts on the whole thing, for being super stupid! Because I knew you would never agree to Amar's disastrous proposal! And also because Sharad wanted me to find some one and settle down! Like my love has no value. I never even looked at other men in my life for God's sake and I work in the entertainment business, where men hit on you like flies run to light!!!"

"Awesome. Great women think alike" Divya and Sarah high-fived, laughed and chatted merrily as they set up the dinner table.

Two hours later ----

Sagar fell asleep on Sharad's lap. 'I will put him to bed." He tried to get up holding him.

Amar stopped him, "Dude, even though he is named after you, you took great care of them in the last two months, he is still my son, let me do the honors. If you want to put a child to sleep, you and Sarah should get to business. You have been a good friend in the last couple of months but you need to have two kids at least and their names should have A and D together like Adriana, Aditya, Aditi and so on. Only then you can claim to be a great friend" He winked.

Sharad without any hesitation said, "Well you had an early start dude but remember slow and steady wins the race. I will definitely have more kids than you and repay your kind gesture with interest as more kids would be named after you two! He winked at Sarah and Divya.

Amar rolled his eyes, "Looking forward to the competition Sharad. You are so far behind, you better roll up with sleeves and act on it soon!" Both burst out laughing.

Sarah went scarlet red! Divya's jaw fell but she quickly managed to say, "I have to check on Sanvi" and fled the scene. "I will come with you" Sarah followed her.

"I never knew Amar was this funny. I always thought he was the serious type. Now I know why those two are best friends!" Sarah exclaimed happily when they reached Sanvi's room.

"Yes two super stupid best friends whom you can only adore! They better be on their best behavior, otherwise with our punishment scheme I don't see how they could possibly make any progress in their competition!" Divya replied with huge grin on her face.

Aww I have a huge silly grin on my face!! Although the last bits of the FF have been rushed, this ending was PERFECT!!

I'm so glad Sarah's brother is the genius doctor; serves Amar right that he was the first guinea pig hehe.

And how adorable are the two guys...and the audacity of Amar to actually roll his sleeves up as he's getting ready for action HAHA...I could so imagine that last scene...Amar the cutie pie. Thanks for letting him live🤗
